“What’s the matter? You big shots can charge whatever you want, but I can’t charge you? Let me be clear–I charged what the market could bear. So what?”
[UserA: Oh my god. The audacity. I love her.]
[UserB: At first I thought she was out of line. But somehow? I’m totally on her side. What’s happening to me?]
[UserC: Stella’s right. She earned that money with her own skills. How is that fraud?]
[UserD: Amber knew the truth and still lied about Stella not being a real doctor. That’s so messed up.]
Amber wanted to argue, but nothing came out.
Stella’s tone softened considerably. “As you all know, I don’t come from money. Everything I have, I built myself. If I suddenly disappear from the public eye, you’ll know who’s behind it.
“Don’t fight for me. Protect yourselves.
“Don’t be impulsive like me. Don’t do what I did.
“Even if you’re furious, don’t kidnap someone and start a livestream. I’ll go turn myself in later.”
One moment she was fierce and untouchable. The next, the energy shifted. Something about her expression–wistful, disappointed–hit differently.
“Azure Peak City,” she said quietly, “has really broken my heart.”
The moment the words left her mouth, panic rippled through the city’s elite.
Outside the Azure Peak City broadcast center, luxury cars multiplied. The city’s most powerful people gathered.
[A tech billionaire: Oh no. The miracle doctor is thinking of leaving.]
[A real estate mogul: Look, if you can’t afford her, don’t complain. Her rates are completely reasonable.]
[A energy tycoon: It was a voluntary payment. Calling it fraud? That’s a new low.]
[A mining magnate: Whoever made the miracle doctor unhappy–go fix it. Now.]
[A retail giant: Prodigy Healer, I don’t think fifty million is too much. Can I jump the queue? My mother suffers every night. As her son, it kills me. I’ll donate fifty million to the Shaw Foundation right now.]
[A telecom CEO: Make it sixty. Please stay in Azure Peak City. We need you here.]
[A tech founder: I’ll donate a hundred million. The miracle doctor does real good. Why slander her? Who’s going to treat the hard cases if she leaves? Does that woman want people to suffer?]
[A university benefactor: I fought to bring that math genius here. Whoever made her want to leave–I’m

coming for you.]
[Donate… I’m in… count me in too…]
By the time the livestream ended, the Shaw Foundation had received millions in new donations.

When Stella and Amber walked out of the broadcast center, a wall of black–suited bodyguards blocked the exit.
Elias and Leo stood at the front.
“Leo! Finally! That–that woman kidnapped me! Call the police. Right now.”
Amber had never been so humiliated. Bullied by this nobody, in front of the entire city. How was she supposed to show her face anywhere?
Leo’s expression was dark. His eyes, cold as ice, fixed on Stella. “Miss Shaw. You’ve crossed a line.”
The Moore family was a joke now.
“Leo.”
Elias‘ voice was a warning.
Leo didn’t back down. “She humiliated us publicly. Are we supposed to just take it?”
“Do you have any idea how many people want the anonymous miracle doctor dead? How many want to kidnap her for research?”
Elias‘ voice was ice. Colder than Leo had ever heard it.
“Amber’s little tantrum could have cost lives.”
He stepped in front of Stella, putting himself between her and Leo.
Amber couldn’t even look up.
Everyone in Azure Peak City–everyone in the country–knew better than to cross Elias Cross.
“I told you before. Stella is mine. You still spread lies about her. Do I seem like someone who tolerates
that?”
Stella touched his sleeve. Gave him a small, warm smile. Then stepped out from behind him.
“Mr. Moore. Don’t worry about the breach of contract payment. Since your family terminated the agreement, find someone else to treat Felix.”
Leo’s heart stopped.
“Miss Shaw. That’s not fair.”
“Your family ended the contract. Would you feel comfortable with me continuing to treat him after this?”
