The Indifferent Ex-Husband Heartstrings in the Mall of Fate (Brandon and Sophia) novel Chapter 768

“But…”

Sophia couldn’t help but frown. Maybe it was because she’d been living there since coming back—she’d grown attached to the place and felt reluctant to leave. She wasn’t all that fond of moving into such a huge house; it just felt too empty.

She preferred the warmth and bustle of their old apartment complex.

Still, she had to admit, a bigger house with more space was better for Theresa to play and move around.

“Don’t like it?” Brandon asked softly.

Sophia shook her head slightly. “It’s not that simple.”

She looked up at the soaring ceiling, then turned to Brandon. “I guess I just feel a little sentimental. That place feels more like home to me. And I really love the little studio next door—it’s nice having a space that’s separate from home. It gives me a sense of balance.”

She couldn’t quite explain why, but every time she stepped into the studio, she felt like she was entering her own little world—a place where she could truly relax. Even the private moments she shared with Brandon there felt different, as if nothing else existed but the two of them.

“But it doesn’t really matter if I like it or not.” Sophia smiled and added, “I’ll get used to it. The important thing is whether Theresa likes it.”

She leaned down to look at Theresa and asked, “Theresa, do you like it here?”

Before Theresa could answer, Brandon was already looking at Sophia, his voice serious. “It matters whether you like it too.”

Sophia felt a rush of warmth and nodded. “Okay.”

Then she added, “Actually, I do kind of like this place…”

Brandon smiled and cut her off. “No need to force yourself. This isn’t the only house we have.”

Theresa looked up at him, puzzled. “Daddy, do you have lots and lots of houses?”

Brandon nodded. “I do.”

Theresa’s eyes widened. “Can I see all of Daddy’s houses?”

Brandon hesitated. “…”
