The crowd hadn’t settled from Lucian’s non-fight when the announcer’s voice came blasting again, slicing through the tension like a whip.
“Round Two! Representing the Winston Family… Jaden Rift!”
The stadium roared.
And then—
“His opponent… from the Titanblood Clan… representing the Aldrith family… Brutus Krowe!”
A towering hulk of a man stepped forward. Shirtless, body shimmering with oil and muscle. His chest flexed, arms thick as steel pipes. Veins bulged like ropes. Every step made the ground thud.
But no one cheered.
Not a single damn soul.
Instead, the crowd booed.
“Steroids can’t help you here!”
“That’s the guy who flinched when Jaden snapped his fingers last round!”
“Just a protein shake with legs!”
Brutus tried to keep a straight face, but his eyes wouldn’t stay still. They kept flicking over to Jaden. He was sweating and the fight hadn’t even started.
Jaden stepped into the arena like he was going for a stroll. Calm. Unbothered. That lazy half-smile on his face. The crowd leaned in, every camera zoomed.
Jaden stopped ten paces away and tilted his head.
“You shaking already?” he said, voice low, laced with amusement. “Don’t tell me it’s just cold in here.”
Brutus scoffed, trying to puff his chest even more. “I’m not scared. I’m built different. I’ve crushed men bigger than you.”
Jaden grinned. “Crushed them? You mean like hugged them till they tapped out?”
A few chuckles rippled through the crowd.
Brutus's jaw tightened. “You talk too much.”
“I know,” Jaden replied. “And you believe your own hype too much. Now come on. Show me what those muscles are good for.”
Brutus roared and charged.
Jaden didn’t move.
Just stood there.
Three steps in, Brutus swung a haymaker that could’ve killed a bull.
Jaden sidestepped.
Clean. Effortless.
Brutus stumbled forward, caught off balance.
Jaden caught his wrist mid-swing and twisted.
Brutus let out a sharp grunt as his arm snapped back, bones cracking loud enough for the front row to hear.
