“How dare you hit my son, you lowlife b****! I’ll beat the shit out of you!”
Mrs. Krane's voice exploded through the classroom like a firecracker in a library. Her face twisted with unfiltered rage, her thick wrists trembling as she stormed toward Selena, hand raised.
Selena instinctively stepped back, raising her arms halfway, not out of fear but surprise. “Wait! You’ve got it all wrong—”
But there was no reasoning with a woman like Mrs. Krane. She was the kind who threw punches before asking questions. And today, she wasn’t in the mood for any answers.
Her meaty hand, glinting with chunky diamond rings, cut through the air, aiming straight for Selena’s face—
But it never landed.
In a blur, Jaden stepped in. Still holding Mia with one arm, he moved like lightning, catching Mrs. Krane’s wrist mid-air with his free hand.
Her fat, jiggling arm froze on the spot, inches from Selena’s cheek. It was as if time had stopped. Her entire body locked up in shock.
Crack!
The next sound echoed like a gunshot.
Jaden didn’t just stop her. He retaliated.
With one swift motion, he backhanded her across the face. The slap was brutal, calculated, and devastating. Her head whipped to the side, her high-end hairstyle collapsing under the force. Red blotches immediately flared across her face as her lips parted in stunned silence.
She stumbled two steps back, dazed, clutching her cheek. Her eyes went wide in disbelief. “You… You dared to slap me?”
Jaden’s voice was calm, yet razor-sharp. “You tried to lay hands on my woman without even asking what happened. That slap? That’s the least you deserve.”
Mrs. Krane screeched like a banshee, hair falling from its bun, the slap echo still ringing in her head.
“You bastard! Do you know who I am?”
“I don’t care who you are,” Jaden replied coldly. “But I know what you are—trash. A grown woman teaching her son to choke a little girl and call her names? You disgust me.”
Right then, the classroom door creaked open again. The teacher had finally returned, breathless, panic in her eyes.
“What on earth is going on here?!” she gasped.
She tried to insert herself into the chaos, but Mrs. Krane shoved her aside like a tissue paper.
“That lunatic slapped me!” Mrs. Krane howled, fumbling for her phone. “I’m calling my husband. Let’s see how long you keep that smug face of yours after he’s through with you!”
She stabbed the screen with trembling fingers and put the phone to her ear. “Get here now, Landon! A man just hit me! He slapped me in front of everyone!”
