The King Of War Returns (Jaden Rift) novel Chapter 200

Back in the Miracle Avenue, Jaden was enjoying his lunch together with Selena and her family, soaking in some wonderful, quality family time.

For a moment, everything was normal. Peaceful.

Then Vane’s phone let out a shrill, jarring ringtone.

Vane flinched, almost dropping his fork.

He reached for the phone, still buzzing across the table. One glance at the screen froze him solid.

His lips parted. “What the hell?” he muttered. “Elias?”

That name alone was enough to draw every pair of eyes in the room. Selena looked up with a raised brow. Nora paused mid-bite. Even Jaden, composed as ever, dabbed his mouth with a napkin and looked over calmly.

Vane stared at the phone like it had turned radioactive. “Why the hell is he calling me now?”

“Because they’re panicking,” Jaden said smoothly. His tone was low, but there was iron underneath. “It’s about the pill. I told you. Sooner or later, they'd come crawling.”

Without fanfare, he reached into his coat pocket and set something on the table—a small, black velvet box.

It made no sound, but it landed with weight.

Vane’s eyes widened. The entire table leaned forward.

Inside the box, resting like a holy relic, was the Divine Pill. Sealed in a clear capsule, it gleamed faintly under the chandelier. It looked ancient and powerful. Priceless.

Time slowed.

Selena’s father blinked in disbelief. Nora’s lips parted slightly. Even Vane—who had mocked it just hours ago—felt a chill crawl up his spine.

“Go on,” Jaden said. “Answer it.”

Vane swallowed and tapped the speaker button. “Hello?”

Dead silence from the other end.

“You mean the same one you laughed at earlier?” she went on, every word sharper than the last. “The same one you tossed on the ground like it was trash? You called it a scam. A joke. You said we should keep it for ourselves because no one else was stupid enough to believe in it.”

Her tone was fire—cold, controlled, but burning.

“And now, suddenly, it’s a miracle cure?” she snapped. “Now it matters?”

She stood up, pacing slowly in front of the table. “Tell me, Elias. Why the hell should we care?”

Elias said nothing. You could practically hear him swallowing his pride on the other end.

“You treated us like dirt,” Nora continued. “Mocked us in front of everyone. You humiliated my husband, and you spit on the one thing that might’ve saved your father’s life.”

She stared down at the phone in her hand. “And now you come begging?”
