“Y-yes… They got angry the day we saved your servant. I know either Arlene or Morgan is behind this….”
“You both need to get stronger,” I said, looking at poor Karla as she groaned in pain with her eyes closed.
“We’re not like you. Your magic… I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s incredibly powerful….”
“I might be able to get you the chance to earn a Restorative Tonic, but you’ll have to accept the Greenhouse owner’s conditions.”
“What?!” she hissed, clutching her stomach even as excitement lit up her face.
“We should go inside. Come on. I’ll explain everything in there.”
At last, we stepped inside. The room was filled with beds surrounded by white curtains, but there were barely two attendants in sight.
Estingias didn’t get sick, and although they could be injured, many of them didn’t even bother coming for treatment because their bodies healed on their own.
We laid Karla on one of the beds, and the healers immediately began treating her.
“You need to come with me too….”
“I’m coming. I’m coming….” Mikaela smiled at the healer, but then she tugged on my arm and pulled me into a corner to question me in private.
I told her plainly, a little embarrassed that I hadn’t told her sooner that I worked at the Greenhouse.
I was still on probation at the Greenhouse, and it seemed the owner might be willing to take them on as workers too.
“We’re going this afternoon!”
“No. Are you crazy? I’ll tell her you’re both injured. We’ll go tomorrow….”
“We’re going this afternoon….” A hoarse voice came from the bed beside us.
“Karla!” Mikaela ran toward her, completely ignoring her own condition.
They were tough girls, after all.
She hugged Karla through her tears, but Karla’s exhausted, determined eyes met mine over the blonde’s shoulder.
“We’ll go this afternoon, and we’ll earn those tonics. We won’t let you down. Thank you.”
I nodded as I watched the fire burning in her eyes, the same fire that drove me to become stronger and stronger.
When I stepped back into the hallway, Blaze was waiting for me in silence.
“Let’s go to our room, Blaze. Elessia must be worried,” I whispered.
We plunged back into the corridors, and I let my instincts guide me through the maze.
Suddenly, the wall along one side of the passage gave way to an opening. From the elevated bridge, I could see a combat

Chapter 147
That was when I saw them.
Arlene was fighting Morgan. They were the newest Estingias, just like me.
They traded coordinated punches and kicks. They weren’t acting on instinct or giving in to impulse.
Their technique was obvious, along with the skill they’d gained through training.
I frowned… I didn’t know how to fight like that.
Everything I did came from pure impulse.
My steps slowed, but eventually, I entered another corridor and reached the stairs leading to my room.
“Would my lady like me to teach her how to fight?” Blaze’s velvety voice suddenly murmured beside my ear.
I stopped short and turned so quickly that my nose bumped against his muzzle.
