Goodbye Forever… My Lady III
VHAELOR
I roared out the answers she had demanded from me so many times.
I would’ve rather had her aceuse me, hate me, scream at me… anything but that soft expression filled with love on her thce.:
“I know, Your Majesty. I know who you are… but that doesn’t change the fact that you’re my mate. We can do this together. I’m powerful. We can find a way…”
“Don’t come any closer, Isidora.”
The words burst out of me, stopping her as she got to her feet and tried to approach me with pain written all over her face.
“This is the last time you’ll ever see me sane. Next time, if there even is a next time, I’ll truly murder you.”
And I wasn’t lying. I could already feel madness closing around us again.
“I’m not afraid of death…” she insisted, as stubborn as ever, standing there and defying me in the middle of that clearing.
A bitter smile touched my lips.
Soul stood there trembling, staring helplessly at the woman who was his entire world.
From the beginning, I’d always known she would never abandon us… and that would be her worst mistake.
“This isn’t something we can fix with love, no matter how badly we want to. You may not be afraid of death, but what terrifies me most in this world is watching you almost die in my arms again… Let me go…”
“No. I found new information. I think the answer is in the palace. If you stay with me, maybe you can hold on a little longer… please… Vhaelor…”
Hearing my real name on her lips didn’t feel half as good as hearing her moan the name Blaze.
That was the name she had given me, and it was too precious to me.
“Look at me… I’m right here for you…”
Soul felt the trembling touch of her hand against the fur on his thigh.
He lowered his head to look at her.
Of course he wanted to see her, but Isidora’s face was already disappearing into the fog again.
Her connection with Varka was becoming tangled in the illusions, and soon, it would all happen again.
This time, she had no more tricks left to wake us.
This time, we couldn’t take that risk.
Soul knelt in front of her, lowered his head, and rested his forehead against hers.
She could barely stay on her feet, and her determination to remain with him only hurt him more.
“Live a good life and fall in love again, my little mate. Find a male who can truly love your incredible soul and be worthy of
a love as pure as yours. When I’m gone, the Goddess will give you another chance, and you’ll take it…”

“No. You don’t get to decide that for me too, Blaze.. I don’t want another chance. I don’t want anyone else?
Isidora’s tears became unbearable.
She clung to us as scbs rose in her throat.
I could hear Varka’s desperate howls, tearing our mind apart.
“Yes, you will, Isidora…”
Soul’s enormous hands touched her tear-soaked face for the last time.
“Because being happy is the greatest gift you could ever give me, and it’s the only way I can leave in peace.”
Soul and I spoke at the same time, both of us drowning in the same unbearable sadness.
“What’s your name? At least tell me… What’s my mate’s name?”
The broken voice of the Estingia wolf slipped into Soul’s mind like a caress, making him close his eyes.
“My name doesn’t matter. You don’t have to remember me… You only have to remember to be happy.”
Those really would be the last words between us.
There would be no coming back this time. No chance for another goodbye.
When Isidora screamed and tried to bind me with her magic, I didn’t let her.
One blow to the back of her neck made her go limp in Soul’s arms.
He lifted her gently, looking again at the damage we had done to her.
We had done that to the most precious person in our world, and we hadn’t even recognized her.
“I won’t repeat the same cycle. The lycan curse ends with me.”
Soul carried her to the edge of the forest and heard Elessia calling her name along with several other people.
The torches were getting closer.
He caressed Isidora’s face one last time before gently resting her against the trunk of a tree.
Soul searched deep inside us for the final remnants of our willpower, then finally walked away from Isidora.
He ran toward the same abyss where she had nearly thrown her life away.
“Come for me, you damned monsters! Leave my female alone!”
He roared into the darkness waiting for him, then lifted his face to the heavens and roared out his hatred for the Goddess and her cruel, unfair punishment..
