I touched my belly, where I felt an energy clinging to my own. A weight that hadn’t been there before.
“I gave you what she wants… what she’ll demand from you in exchange for breaking the curse. It’s my lycan son’s last breath.”
When I raised my head, tears of blood were streaming from Valezka’s eyes. Her form was fading as if her energy was draining away.
“It’s time. We’ve held on this long. Our feelings, our remorse, our regrets… all of it has kept us together. And now, we’ll give you the last of our strength.”
Valezka stepped back, and as the moonlight streaming through the skylight grew brighter, their bodies began to glow beneath it.
“Take my sword, Isidora, and carry us with you. Every one of those wolf shadows holds the spirit of one of our mates… We’ll help you deal with them while you find a way to free us all.”
I wanted to ask her… What if I couldn’t do it?
What if they’d been waiting all this time for the wrong person?
What if I failed?
But I saw the courage on every one of those women’s faces, and the perseverance that had carried them through all those years rushed through my veins, feeding the fire inside me.
1 yanked the sword from the statue and raised it toward the sky.
“Moon Goddess Selene, have mercy on us and give me the strength to win!”
As if my words had reached the heavens, lightning ripped across the storm clouds with a deafening crack.
Multicolored lights suddenly streaked through the air and poured into the sword I held high.
Sonya’s energy burst out with brutal force.
When I looked at Valezka, her body turned into a flash of red that shot up and out through the skylight
She would lead me to the Lycan Cemetery… She was the real map
With a thunderous crash, the lid of her sarcophagus fell to the floor. I’d triggered it when I pulled the sword from her marble hand
There was no body inside, unly a passage leading deep underground
I didn’t hesitate. I climbed into the cuttin and started down the art stairs

A dark tunnel stretched ahead, and I raced into it without a second thought as Varka prepared for battle and gave me all her strength.
I don’t know how long I ran through that underground passage, but when I climbed out through a metal hatch set into the ground, the rain was coming down in sheets.
The castle was far behind me, and an endless forest stretched ahead.
A red light suddenly flared above the treetops through the pouring rain, and I followed it, sword in hand.
I could feel thick mist wrapping around me, as if it were leading me somewhere not everyone could reach.
Red eyes began appearing among the dark outlines of the trees.
“It’s them. It’s those wolf shadows. Their energy… it’s getting to me.”
Varka shook her head violently, as if she were trying to shake off the voices already echoing inside our mind.
Madness, madness, and violence were coming for us, but I had powerful allies too.
I reached the cliff and knew it was the same one the ancient Lycan King had thrown his mate from.
The grass was withered, the smell of death still hung in the air, and the torrential rain kept beating down on
The wind howled through the branches, sounding like whispers and faint laughter, while dangerous growls. rose from those shadows.
The same shadows that had never hurt me before.
But now… I was in their territory.
When I looked down into the abyss, my entire body began to tremble. The darkness was so intense I could feel it in my bones.
I couldn’t turn back. All I could do was keep moving forward because the man I loved was down there.
“All of you, get ready to fight! Varka!”
I called to my wolf as I threw myself into the void.
The wind whistled in my ears and whipped through my hair.
All my Estingia power rushed into my legs, and I landed on the black ground below with a hard thus!
My heels sank into something soft I didn’t even dare look down at, and the mit cleared around me, revealing those wolves in the rain
They were surrounding me, blocking my path through the valley
I’ve come to save you, to free your soil so you can finally be with your mates! Move ande?”

I roared, but more and more kept appearing.
Their energy bore down on me, far too powerful and full of resentment and violence.
I tried to take a step forward while gripping Sonya, but one of them lunged at me.

On instinct, I swung my sword. The blade cut a dangerous arc through the air and vibrated with the energy inside it.
A howl of pain rang out through the rain, but it still sank its teeth into my arm.
“Aah!” I yanked my arm from its jaws as best I could.
They hadn’t been able to touch me before, but here, they’d become that woman’s messengers.
The circle closed around me again. They could attack at any moment.
Sonya kept vibrating. The red light that had led me there flowed into the blade as well, and I knew what I had to do.
“Today, we end this. Let’s see if you can take them on!”
I drove the sword into the wet ground, and a wave of power hurled them away from me.
This was my chance. I only had a second, and I didn’t waste it.
“Do it, Varka!” I roared at my wolf, letting her feel exactly what I intended.
“But we’ll have almost no power left. Afterward, you won’t be able to shift into me.”
“We don’t need strength. That’s not what’s going to make us win…” I said, staring into the darkness that seemed to be watching me from the bottom of the canyon.
She was waiting for me, watching my every move, judging me as if my mind and every decision I made were just a game to her.
