Episode 40-3
“They love what we’re building together. I’m just the catalyst.”
“You’re more than that. You’re a symbol of possibility.” Catherine stood, moving to the window overlooking the pack territory. “I came here skeptical, ready to find evidence of manipulation. Instead, I find a thriving community where wolves of all ranks work together. Where a–Luna trains warriors. Where omega families aren’t hiding in corners but participating openly in pack life.
“That’s what reform looks like.”
“And it’s what has traditional Alphas terrified.” She turned back to me. “Because if this works here, if you can prove that change doesn’t destroy pack cohesion, then all their arguments fall apart. They can’t justify their oppression anymore.”
“Is that why Blackthorne is forming a coalition?”
“You’ve heard about that.” Catherine’s expression grew grim. “Yes. Gregory Blackthorne is scared. His pack is one of the most traditional in North America. Strict hierarchy, omega suppression, Daughters hidden away. If his wolves see what’s possible elsewhere…”
“They might demand change.”
“And he might lose everything. So he’s gathering like–minded Alphas, painting you as a threat.” Catherine moved closer. “Alpha Sera, I need to warn you. Blackthorne isn’t just building political opposition. He’s preparing for war”
The room went cold.
“War?”
“Military action. He’s convinced several hardline Alphas that you’re corrupting pack structure across North America.” Stopping you is necessary for supernatural survival.” Catherine’s voice was urgent. “He’s planning to attack Crescent Moon before your influence spreads further.”
“When?”
“I don’t know the exact timing. But soon. Within months, maybe weeks.”
Adrian had been listening silently. Now he spoke. “How many Alphas are in his coalition?”
“Twelve were confirmed, and another five are considering joining. If they all commit, that’s seventeen packs worth of warriors.” Catherine looked at me. “You survived the Covenant, but this is different. These are supernatural beings who know how to fight other supernatural beings.”
“What do you suggest?”
“Build your own coalition. Reformed packs, sympathetic traditionalists, anyone who opposes military action.” She pulled out her phone. “I’ll help. My pack has been considering reforms. This threat gives us a

reason to formally align with you.”
“That makes you a target too.”
Clain
“I’m old, Alpha Sera I’ve lived a full life. But the young wolves in my pack deserve a chance at the future you’re building.” Catherine’s eyes were fierce. “I’d rather die fighting for change than live maintaining oppression.”
After Catherine left, I held Luna close, feeling the weight of what was coming.
“Another war,” I said quietly. “Because we dared to suggest wolves could be treated equally.”
“We’ll survive it,” Adrian said with certainty. “We’ve survived everything else.”
“But how many will die this time? How many packs torn apart?” I looked at Luna, who was dozing against my chest. “I wanted her to grow up in a peaceful world.”
“Peace isn’t given. It’s built.” He wrapped his arms around both of us. “And we’re building it. One reform, one alliance, one brave Alpha like Catherine at a time.”
Luna stirred, her silver eyes opening. She looked at me and said, with perfect clarity, “Safe.”
“Yes, little one. You’re safe.” I kissed her forehead. “And I’ll make sure you stay that way. Whatever it takes.”
Even if it meant fighting another war.
Even if it meant becoming the very thing I’d fought against–a symbol that inspired violence through its mere existence.
Because some things were worth fighting for.
And my daughter’s future was one of them.
