The Lycan Prince’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance) novel Chapter 137

Chapter 137

As soon as I round the corner step back toward the elevator area, I stop as i spot her immediately.

I stand there for a moment, just staring, struck by her beauty. It’s like I’ve been struck by an invisible arrow in my chest. Lyra is wearing a golden gown that catches the light with every breath she takes.

It’s a beautiful dress, but it’s too revealing. It shows off too much of her soft, glossy skin for my liking. I know I sound like a possessive bastard, but I don’t give a fuck.

Lyra Diamond is mine. No one else in this palace should be drinking up her beauty but me.

Her silver hair flows down her back like a bed of snow. Seeing it now, I realize why it’s so naturally white. She’s a silver fox. I should have seen the signs

earlier.

My chest tightens with a feeling I can’t explain as I watch her. What is this? Why can’t I control the way my heart thrashes against my ribs just by looking at her? What is this girl doing to me? I need to get a hold of myself.

This growing obsession is going to be the death of me. It’s dangerous. I know what she is now, and I know that our destinies are worlds apart, but my mind doesn’t seem to care. Vlad is even worse. My beast is always pacing in the back of my mind, trying to jump out of my skin. All he wants is to dominate her, own her, and make her his completely. And I’m actually losing the battle against him. I want Lyra. I don’t care that I brought her in as a slave. I don’t care that she isn’t a wolf. I want her, and she will be mine.

My thoughts are cut short by the sound of a raised voice.

“Enough!”

I focus on the scene a few yards away. That’s when I realize who she’s facing. Bina. Of course.

Rina is standing in front of her, face contorted with the kind of toxicity she usually hides behind a fake smile. She’s probably threatening Lyra from what I

can hear.

A part of me wants to march over there right now and yank Lyra away. But another part of me-a curious part-wants to see if she’ll stand her ground. I know Lyra. When I first brought her to the academy, she had a broken spirit. I understand that anyone would, being treated like an outcast by their own family for years. But lately, she’s changed. She talks back to me. She stopped making excuses for her shitty friend. She’s becoming more outspoken.

I want to see her bite back.

“You really think you’re something special just because he let you out of the basement for a night? Rina hisses, her voice loud enough to drag attention from everyone nearby. “You’re a pet, Lyra. A novelty. Once he’s done playing dress-up with his little wolfless toy, he’ll discard you like the trash you are. You don’t belong in my world.”

Lyra doesn’t cower. She doesn’t even flinch. She looks Rina dead in the eye and shakes her head with a smile.

You really need to get over yourself, Rina,” Lyra says in a clear voice. ‘You spend so much time talking about where I belong, but you’re the one standing here desperate and alone. Kai didn’t leave you because of me. He left you because he finally saw who you actually are. And honestly? It’s not a good look.”

My chest instantly swells with pride. A smile tugs at the corner of my mouth. That’s my little flower.

Rina’s face turns dark with fury. “You you worthless slave! I’ll make sure you regret the day you ever crossed paths with me. I’ll make your life a living

hell!’

Chapter 137

Tyra prtually lets out a laugh. I’m not scared of you, Rifs. To be honest. I’m actually starting to get bored. Are you going to keep screaming, or can I go

find Kara huw

Rina explodes. What’s remaining of er composure vanishes completely. She raises her hand, ready to slap Lyra, but I’m already there.

I move with immense speed, my hand snapping out to catch Rina’s wrist mid-air. The force of my movement sends a small whiff of wind through the hallway. Rina looks at me, her eyes wide with shock and fear. I don’t let go. I shove her hand backward, forcing her to stumble a step away.

‘T’ll let you off because we’ve known each other for a while. But the next time you raise your hand against Lyra,’ I say, my voice low and lethal, “I won’t be so nice to you. This is your only warning, Rina. Stay away from her.”

Rina’s lip trembles, but sh. “You’ll regret this, Kai. You’ll regret letting your slave talk to a Princess like that.”

Rina glares at us both before turning on her heel and stomping away. I watch her go for a second to make sure she’s actually leaving, then I turn back to

Lyra.

She’s looking at me shyly, her chest heaving slightly from the adrenaline. Her lips are so pink and rosy, they look incredibly soft and kissable right now. I’m

such a goner.

“What?” she asks, her voice a whisper.
