“Whatever, Daisy spits, shaking her arm free. She looks at me with a nasty grin. “Anyway, I can’t wait for your mate to gue bark and you. I’m sure he’s missed his little toy.”

I pause at her words. “What are you talking about?”

“Your mate, Ryan Kent,” Daisy says, her voice full of spite. “Isn’t he your true mate who rejected you for me?”

I close my eyes and pray for the moon Goddess to give me patience because I have the strong urge to bash my sister’s face in

“You couldn’t even keep your own mate.” She continues to talk. “How pathetic. Anyway, since I’m bored with him, I left him for you think you should focus on him and stay away from Prince Kai and Prince Roman. You aren’t deserving of a prince, and you know it. Rya is the one who you deserve. Once he’s back, you two will be together.”

“Will you just stop talking about my ex already?” I interrupt her. My voice is steady, but the mention of Ryan makes me even more angry. “I don’t care who you leave or who you’re with, Daisy. Just leave me alone please.”

I turn and leave her there, still rambling about Ryan and how he’s even too good for me.

She’s probably hoping she can snag one of the princes for herself now that she’s single again. She’s delusional if she thinks Roman or Kai would ever look at her.

We walk toward the massive gates of the pack house. My heart starts to beat fast against my ribs again as the gates open. My parents are standing there, framed by the stone archway. Alpha Rafa and Luna Sarah.

I show down as my confusion grows. He looks happy. He looks… proud?

“Take my hand, daughter,” my father says, stretching his hand out toward me.

I skeptically take it, my fingers trembling slightly as they touch his. He pulls me up onto the wooden pulpit, placing me right bos Jackson and Daisy. I can feel the heat of Daisy’s rage from here; she’s seething, her face pale with jealousy. Even I don’t understand the sudden attention. He has never given a damn about me. Not once in eighteen years.

As we face the gathered pack members, the atmosphere is charged.

“The warriors of Valeria are back!” Alpha Rafa announces to the crowd.

Everyone begins to clap and cheer. People are hooting, their faces lit with excitement. It’s like a hero’s welcome.

Luna Sarah steps forward, her face is light with the expression of a proud mother. She smiles at the crowd and speaks in a loud and clear voice. “Our children have been making us proud at the academy. Because of that, we will celebrate their brief vacation with a mini festival

The cheers get even louder.
