The Lycan Prinee’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance)
Chapter 188
“Listen to me, you miserable little wolf,” Kai says, his voice booming through the hall. “I’m giving you exactly five minutes. You are going to take your phone out, you are going to take down that stupid post, and you are going to post a full confession. You will tell the world what you did to your sister. You
will tell them about the drugs. You will tell them about Ryan. Do you understand?”
Daisy nods frantically, her hair falling over her face. “Yes… yes, I will… I promise…”
“And you better not show your face at the Academy again,” Kai adds. “Kypton is no place for shady, pathetic wolves like you. I will personally see to it that you are expelled before the sun sets today. If I ever see you near Lyra again, I won’t listen to her the next time she asks for mercy. Do you understand me?”
Daisy gasps, a fresh wave of tears escaping her. The Academy was her entire life. Her ticket to a high–ranking mate. Now, it’s gone.
“Your Highness, please… don’t get her expelled…” Luna Sarah starts to beg, but Kai ignores her.
He turns to the rest of the crowd, who are still standing frozen and watching the whole scene. “The show is over! Get out! Every single one of you! If this hall isn’t empty in sixty seconds, I’ll start clearing it myself!”
The crowd runs for the exits, tripping over themselves to get out. Within seconds, the only people left are my family, the guards, and us.
Kai doesn’t spare another glance for the Alpha or the Luna. He reaches out and grabs my hand, his grip firm and possessive.
“You’re coming with ma
he
says. It’s not a request.
As he pulls me toward the exit, I look back one last time. My father is still on the floor, looking broken. My mother is cradling Daisy, both of them weeping. But in the corner, I see Uncle Cassian. He isn’t afraid. He’s standing there with his arms crossed with a proud, knowing smile on his face. He winks at me, and my face flushes instantly. I quickly look away and follow Kai.
Kai leads me out of the pack house and into the surrounding wood. As soon as we are a safe distance from the building, he stops.
Before I can ask what we’re doing, he bends down and swoops me into his arms. I yelp, my hands flying up to wrap around his neck to keep from falling,
“What are you doing?” I gasp. “Where are you taking me? Not to the palace I hope?”
Kai stops and looks down at me. His eyes are still red, but the fury has settled into something else. Something dark and hungry. He looks at my lips, and I feel a sudden spark of electricity shoot through my belly. The air between us is thick, charged with a tension that makes my heart pound against my ribs.
“You’ll see,” he says with a dangerous smile touching his lips. “Just hold on to me, Lyra. And whatever you do, don’t let go.”
I nod, burying my face in the crook of his neck. I hold him as tight as I can.
Then something happens.
In the next second, I feel his whole body begin to change. The heat radiating from him becomes an inferno. I hear the sound of his bones breaking and resetting, a sound that should be terrifying but somehow it’s not. I feel thick, dark fur erupting from his skin, brushing against my skin. I literally feel him grow larger and larger, until I feel like I’m being held by a giant.
I keep my eyes shut tight until the shifting sounds stop. When I finally dare to open them, I gasp.
I am being held by a beast.

Chapter 188
He is three times the size of a normal wolf. His fur is as black as the void, and his muscles are like coiled steel. I look up, directly into the glowing red eyes
of the Lycan beast. Kai’s beast. This is the first time I’m seeing him up close.
Fear and wonder mix inside me, swirling into a cocktail that makes my head light. This is the creature everyone whispers about. This is the monster of the
North. He’s both so beautiful and absolutely terrifying. I have the embarrassing urge to pee my pants right there.
The beast’s mouth opens, revealing rows of razor–sharp white teeth. But he doesn’t snarl. He smiles. It’s a terrifying sight, yet strangely beautiful.
“Pleased to finally meet you, beautiful mate.”
The voice isn’t Kai’s. It’s deeper, rougher, like the sound of a hundred bass speakers. “Call me Vlad,” he says.
“Mate!” I reply out loud. No it’s not my voice. It’s Wyndra’s voice.
