Everything happens in a single second.
I watch in slow motion, my heart beating violently against my throat, as the teacher, Miss Genova raises my phone’s screen to her
face. My hands twist into iron knots at my sides.
What I should do? Should I shift right here? Should I let Wyndra take over and transform into my fox form to create a distraction?
No. That will just expose my secret to the entire room all the same.
What should I do? What should I do!
Just then, right at the exact moment the teacher’s eyes-light up to read the topmost text message, the doors of the lecture hall fly
wide open.
Hello everyone!” a cheerful, clear voice booms through the silent room. “I’m Nick, a new transfer student, and I was directed to
come straight down here for my very first history class!”
Miss Genova immediately pauses and she looks away from my phone, snapping her head toward the entrance.
Wait, is that…? I don’t believe my own ears. I blink rapidly, my jaw practically dropping to the floor as I look at the boy standing confidently at the front of the class. It’s Nick. He’s wearing a standard uniform and the official Krypton Academy badge is pinned to
his chest.
Wait, what the hell? Nick is a student now? Since when? How exactly did he get past the strict administration and the wolf
assessment without revealing to the examiners that he isn’t a wolf shifter?
Has Kai seen him on campus yet? Oh no. My stomach twists into a painful knot of pure dread. What if Kai spots him around the corridors and instantly senses something wrong? What if Kai recognizes him from the palace and tries to attack him right here in the open?
I want to shout at Nick, I want to jump out of my seat and scream at him to furn around and run away as fast as he can, but the
words completely trap themselves in my throat. I can’t say a single thing. Not when every single person in the room is suddenly
acting completely hypnotized by his presence.
The entire class stares at Nick as if he is some sort of angel who just dropped out of the sky.
The silence in the room is thick, but it’s a different kind of silence than before. I hear several girls in the middle rows letting out
soft, audible gasps, their faces flushing pink as they practically start swooning in their chairs.
Even the guys are staring at him with envy, looking at him as if they can’t quite believe he is a real person.

Chapter 230
I can’t completely blame them, honestly. With his striking silver-white hair, his tall, broad-shouldered frame, and those piercing
blue eyes, he looks too good to be true. He commands the room without even trying.
Even Miss Genova looks entirely shocked and flustered. She drops her hand, completely forgetting about the phone for a brief
moment as she adjusts her glasses and smiles warmly at him.
“My, my,” Miss Genova says, her sharp tone instantly melting into something incredibly sweet. “What a handsome young wolf you
are. Of course you are welcome to my class, dear. Let’s get you settled right away. Take a seat right here, right in the front row
where I can keep a good eye on you. Come on.”
Every single pair of eyes in the lecture hall follows Nick’s every movement as he steps down the aisle to take his seat.
But right before he sits down, he turns his head tand briefly winks at me. A small, knowing smirk plays on his lips. Some of the girls
beside me catch the look and glance at me in surprise.
He did that on purpose. It was his plan to burst into the room at that exact second to stop the teacher from reading my private chat
messages. He wasn’t kidding when he said he’s been following me. If not, how else did he know that I was about to get into trouble
