The Lycan Prince’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance) novel Chapter 240

Chapter 240

“Kai! Stop it!” Kara’s voice hisses urgently in my ear. “You’re going to kill her right here in front of everyone!”

I don’t let go. I keep my grip tight, determined to watch the light leave Rina’s eyes.

“Kai, seriously, let her go,” Damon’s deep voice cuts in from my other side, his grip locking onto my forearm to pull my hand back. “If you murder her right now, the King will make you regret it for the rest of your life. Think about the bigger picture. Don’t do this

now.”

The mention of my father brings a cold splash of reality over my burning rage. I let out a growl, my fingers lingering on her throat

for one last second before I finally let her go, shoving her away from me with disgust.

Rina collapses hard on the grass, tumbling into the dirt. She clutches her bruised neck, coughing her heart out and drawing in huge

gasps of air.

I glare down at her writhing form, my voice deadly quiet. “Get the hell out of here before I change my mind and finish what I

started.”

Rina looks up at me through her tears, face still pale and blotchy. She glares at me with pure venom. “You’ll regret this, Kai,” she

wheezes, her voice raspy and broken. “I swear to you, you will regret this.”

She rushes to her feet, holding her throat, and runs off into the shadows of the woods, disappearing from the area.

1 let out a breath, trying to calm the roaring beast inside me, when I notice that everyone around me has gone completely quiet.

Several students sitting on the surrounding couches are staring at me in absolute shock, their mouths hanging wide open.

I snap my head toward them, my eyes flashing dangerously. “What the hell are you looking at?!” I bark.

Everyone quickly looks away, terror written all over their faces. Within a second, they resume what they were doing before that

pathetic show, pretending they didn’t just see the Lycan Prince almost throttle his supposed mate to death.

I turn around immediately to look back across the fire to where Lyra was sitting/

My heart stops. I freeze, a cold dread washing over me as I realize she is no longer sitting there. Her seat is empty. My heart starts

racing with fear as I scan the crowd desperately. Where is she? Where did she go? Is she safe? Did someone take her?

Kara catches my reaction and smirks at me, crossing her arms over her chest as if she knows exactly who I’m looking for. She tilts

her head toward the center of the field. “If you’re looking for your little flower, big brother, I suggest you check the dance floor. Baby

girl’s killing it over there.”

I follow her gaze, and the moment I spot Lyra, my entire body tightens into a rigid, furious knot.

She is on the crowded dance floor. She has a red cup in one hand, her hips swaying to the pulsing beat of the music. And that Level

3 bastard, Andrew or whatever his name is, is standing directly behind her, rocking his body against her from behind.

Chapter 240

An explosive, blinding wave of fury hits me instantly.

She looks entirely too good, and it is driving me insane. That short black skirt shows off the curves of her creamy thighs, and her

tiny, perfect waist is being held firmly by that bastard’s hands. There is absolutely no way I am going to end up getting through this

night without killing someone. Fuck!

I try to force myself to breathe, trying to control the dark anger ripping through my veins, but it is impossible. I am forced to watch

as she glides her body against his, laughing and waving her silky silver hair right in his face.
