The Lycan Prince’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance)
Chapter 262
After a few seconds of silence, a loud buzzer sound echoes through the hall. The transparent doors of all the
boxes lock shut automatically with a click.
Suddenly, everyone’s watch lights up with a bright blue light. A loud automated voice echoes from the speakers above. “Get ready to enter into your virtual world. Only the resilient will come out victorious.”
Then, the back wall of our transparent box slides open, revealing another door that is shining with a bright light. There is no time to hesitate. We all walk through the door at the exact same time, stepping directly
into the brilliant white void.
The moment we cross the threshold of the wall, the ground beneath us completely disappears. We are
falling.
We plummet downward through the empty air, the wind rushes violently past my ears. I look down and realize we are falling straight toward the hard ground of a massive forest. Branches rip at my clothes as we
drop.
That’s when I notice the shy boy falling awkwardly right next to me. He is spinning out of control, heading directly toward a pile of heavy rocks. If he hits them at this speed, he will break his leg or worse.
Without thinking, I throw my own body sideways through the air, diving underneath him to block his
impact.
We hit the ground with a heavy thud.
Crack.
A sharp flash of blinding pain explodes through my right leg. I let out a loud scream of pure agony, curling into a tight ball on the dirt. The bone in my shin feels completely broken. I clutch my leg, tears streaming down my face as my body trembles from the intense shock.
Fuck. I didn’t think the fall would be that bad. I silently pray to the Goddess that my body will somehow find a way to heal this injury quickly, even though Wyndra is not here to help me out. Without my fox, the healing process feels stagnant, leaving me to suffer through the agonizing pain.

Chapter 262
The shy boy quickly shifts away from me. At least he’s uninjured thanks to my intervention. He looks down at my twisted leg, his face turning completely pale with horror. “I-I am so sorry!” he stammers, his voice shaking violently as he bends beside me. “Oh my god, it’s my fault. You’re hurt because of me. I am so, so sorry, Lyra!”
I grit my teeth, pushing past the wave of dizziness from the pain. “Don’t worry about it,” I gasp out, forcing the words through my clenched jaw. “It was an accident. Just help me sit up.”
He quickly reaches down and helps me prop myself up against the trunk of a tree. I reach up to my neck to untie a long scarf that I had worn to the testing hall. With shaking fingers, I pull it tight around my broken leg, wrapping the fabric over and over again to create a tight makeshift sling to stabilize the bone. Thankfully, no one else got injured in our group.
As soon as everyone takes a step forward into the clearing, a holographic screen suddenly pops up directly in front of us. The digital screen comes to life, glowing with bright green text as the official exam instructions are shown clearly for our group to read.
