The Lycan Prince’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance) novel Chapter 270

Chapter 270

The girls are celebrating, laughing, and high-fiving. The shy boy steps forward, a hopeful smile on his face,

probably wanting to be part of the moment.

Clara immediately turns on him. “Get the fuck out of here before I break your loser face.”

I laugh, unable to stop myself. “Clara, you’ll never stop being mean, will you?”

She looks at me with a playful smirk on her lips. “Someone has to punish the coward, Lyra.”

We move to the hall’s lounge area where tables are set up with Moon Juice. The drink is there to replenish shifter energy and help heal minor injuries. I pick up a glass and take a long sip. It tastes like menthol and honey. I hope it helps with my leg. The pain is still there, sharp and biting whenever I put weight on it, reminding me of that moment where I played the hero for someone who wasn’t even worth it.

“Lyra!”

A familiar voice breaks my thoughts. I turn my head and see two figures pushing through the crowd of students, their faces lit up with pure joy. Amara and Isolde.

“Thank the Goddess,” I mutter with a smile on my face. They must have passed.

They run towards me at full speed. Before I can brace myself, they both rush into me with an excited hug. The impact sends a jolt of pain up my injured leg. I groan, my face twisting in pain as I stagger back, stumbling into one of the drink tables.

“Whoa, Lyra, what’s wrong?” Isolde asks, her eyes wide with concern. “Are you hurt?”

“She’s fine,” Clara says, stepping between us. “She just fell while we were in the forest. She was busy playing hero, protecting someone who didn’t deserve it.”

Amara narrows her eyes at Clara. She looks Clara up and down like she’s recognizes her from somewhere. She turns to me, her voice dropping. “Lyra, isn’t this girl one of those girls that usually followed that nasty sister of yours around? This bitch was a part of your team?”

” Clara snarls, stepping forward into Amara’s personal space.

Amara doesn’t flinch. She steps right back, leaning into Clara. They both face each other off. “A bitch. That

exactly what the fuck I called you.”

The air in the lounge seems to crackle. Students stop drinking and start watching the drama.

“Will you guys please just cut it out?” I say immediately, grabbing Clara’s arm while Isolde pulls Amara.

“Both of you, stop! People are watching.”

I look at Clara with a soft expression. “Amara, it’s not what you think. Yes she’s Daisy’s friend, but we don’t

have bad blood. We’re on the same team for now.”

Amara looks at me, then back at Clara, her expression skeptical. “You’re serious?”

Juctions are done, I turn to my best friends. “How did your test go? Did you make it?”

“We were number 12! Top 20 for sure.”

Amara sighs, though she’s still happy. “We were around 25 on the poll. Didn’t quite make the top we passed. No probation for us.”

them both into a hug, careful of my leg this time. “That’s good news. At least we all passed. That’s

at matters.”

Anyway,” Amara says, beaming at me. “We should go celebrate at the apartment. We all deserve a long, fun movie night. No training, no tests.”

“Yes!” Isolde agrees. “But first, Lyra needs to go talk to her man. He’s probably waiting outside for her. He’s been pacing for the last te-

I feel the heat rush to my cheeks. “Who?”

“Of course Roman,” Isolde says.

I flush deeper. I can see the expression on Aloe and Sansa’s faces, they look like they’re dying to hear all

the gossip.

“I…I’ll catch up with you guys,” I say quickly, waving goodbye to my team members before they can start asking questions I’m not ready to answer. I follow my best friends out of the hall, my heart doing a strange

little dance.
