The Lycan Prinee’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance)
Chapter 32
Lyra
With every step I take toward Prince Kai’s betrothed, the knot in my stomach tightens. She isn’t sitting with the rest of the students, she’s sitting away in a private corner of the cafe, looking every bit like the royalty she is. She has two girls standing behind her. probably her maids or slaves.
Rina is stunning in a sharp, intimidating way. She’s even wearing a small tiara in her perfectly styled hair. She’s dressed in a very classy outfit that hugs her
figure. She’s very beautiful, definitely befitting a prince. She watches me as I approach with a sly smile on her face, her eyes scanning me like I’m a bug
under a microscope.
“Hello, slave,‘ she says, her voice dripping with mock sweetness.
I ignore the insult and keep my face as blank as possible. “You asked to see me?”
“I did,” she says, leaning back and crossing her legs. “I’m just curious. Why did my mate step in to defend you? Who are you to him?”
I give her a tight smile. “I’m not sure. Maybe… he just didn’t want his slave to be bullied by anyone else but him.”
Rina fets out a laugh. “That sounds like my Kai. That’s exactly why I love him. He can be ruthless when he wants to be, but he always has a soft spot for
strays.”
I just stare at her silently. If she thinks her nasty comment is going to break me, she’s got another thing coming. After everything I’ve survived back at
Valeria pack, a few insults from a girl in a tiara isn’t going to make me shake.
I release a frustrated sigh, wanting to get this over with. “Is that all? Why am I really here?”
‘Oh, yes. I actually wanted to show you something,” she says. She reaches into her golden purse and pulls something out, dangling it from her fingers.
I recognize it instantly. It’s the Neel Diamond. The
cafeteria lights, shining as if it’s mocking me.
Same stone that ruined/my life, nearly got me killed, and turned me into a royal slave. It sparkles in the
“Do you see this?” Rina asks, her voice dropping to a whisper. “This is the diamond you tried to steal. The King himself decided to gift it to me because he
said I’m special to the family.”

“Congratulations,‘ I say.

The moment I say it, one of her maids quickly covers her mouth to stifle her laugh. Rina snaps her head back and glares at the girl until she goes pale and
turns to the floor. Then, Rina turns back to me, holding the necklace out.
“I want you to help me put it on,” she says.
