The Lycan Prinee’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance)

Chapter 31

We’re Level One, just like you, Isolde explains. That’s how we heard about what happened in the hallway and before we got here.

Amara nods, her expression turning serious. Daisy Diamond is the worst. She mostly bullies Level One students just because she’s a year ahead and thinks

she’s royalty.

Wait, why are the levels ranked like that?I ask. I’m still trying to figure out how this place works.

It’s simple,Isolde says. The levels are for every year you’ve been here. Year one is Level One, year two is Level Two, and year three is Level Three. Once

you hit Level Three, you’re at the top of the food chain.

The most respected are the Level Threes,Amara adds. Like Prince Kai and his Beta, Damon. They basically rur the school.

I don’t miss the way Amara’s eyes glaze over and she smiles dreamily when she mentions Kai’s name.

Oh, great, another girl obsessed with the monster.

So when does Prince Kai graduate?I ask. They probably think I’m interested, but I just want to know how much longer I have to deal with his shadow

hanging over me.

By the end of this year,Amara says. He’ll graduate along with the rest of the Level Threes. Including his future mate, Rina.

Rina?

Well, that’s what most people call her,Amara says. They aren’t official‘ ‘officialyet, but everyone expects them to be mated. She’s perfect for him.

Before I can process that, Amara reaches her hand out and gently touches a strand of my hair. Your hair is so white and shiny, Lyra. Is it natural?

I blush, feeling selfconscious. Um, yeah. It is.

Wow,Isolde says, looking impressed. You’re lucky. We spend a fortune on dye and yours looks like snow naturally. If your hair is that white, your wolf is

probably white too, right? That’s incredibly rare.

I tense up instantly. My heart starts to hammer against my ribs.

Don’t tell her anything,Wyndra’s voice snaps in my head, sharper than usual. Do not tell anyone about us yet.

I won’t, I promise her silently. I force a neutral expression on my face and focus back on my sandwich, hoping they don’t see the panic in my eyes.

My wolf isn’texactly out yet,I say, trying to keep my voice from shaking.

Amara and Isolde look surprised at first, then they both nod with understanding smiles. No worries, Amara says. Some people are late bloomers. It

happens.

I feel a huge weight lift off my chest at her words.

I smile back at them, feeling happy.

I listen to them talk about everything and anything as we continue to eat. I end up laughing out loud when they describe the awkwardness of their first

shifts, how they both ended up standing naked because they forgot they had to carry extra clothes in their fur. They’re funny, loud, and truly want to be my

friend

Maybe life in this academy won’t be so bad.

We’ve just finished our food when another girl stops at our table. She doesn’t say hi, She just points a finger directly at me, her expression cold. Hey, you.
