Chapter 37
She looks at me with shock before trying to shove me away. This time, I let her. I put some distance between us before I give in to the demons in my head
and actually destroy her. When saw my cousin hugging her earlier, I almost lost it.
“But Prince Roman was just being nice to me!” she snaps, wiping her face. “Just like he is with countless other girls!
“Then don’t be one of those ‘countless‘ girls,” I retort. “The next time I catch you hugging him, I’ll make you pay. And the punishment will be very public
and more humiliating, Lyra. Do you understand?”
Her eyes turn fiery, glaring at me with a rage that almost makes me smile. She looks like she wants to claw my eyes out, and for a second, I just want to
swallow that fire with my own lips.
She looks away, her jaw tight. “Understood, Your Highness.”
“Good. Start cleaning,” I command, waving my hand over the place.
She doesn’t move. She just stands there, glaring at the floor, openly defying me. This wolfless girl…
1 step back into her space, a wicked smile spreading across my face as I lean down to her ear. “Or maybe, you’d rather suck my hard, angry cock as
punishment instead? Is that what you’d like?”
Lyra’s eyes widen with shock and fear. She doesn’t waste another second. She quickly picks up the brush and bucket like her life depends on it. I watch her
silently as she drops to her knees and starts scrubbing the bloody floor. She uses one hand to cover her nose to block out the bad smell, her long white hair
brushing against the dirty mats. I feel a weird urge to go over and hold her hair back for her, but I stifle it. She needs to remember her place.
“Finish this in thirty minutes,” I say, checking my watch. I’ll be back later to check your work.”
“Jerk Lycan Prince,” she mumbles under her breath.
I have to put my hand over my mouth to hide my smile. Her attitude is frustrating, but it’s the most interesting thing I’ve felt in years. “What was that?” I
ask.
She keeps her head down. “Nothing.”
“Better.” I turn and walk out of the room, leaving her to the mess.
The moment I close the door, I open my mind link. My sister, Kara, has been knocking at my mind for the last ten minutes.
‘Why the hell did you drag her away like that?‘ Kara’s voice echoes in my head. ‘In front of everyone, Kai? Really?‘
‘I had to,‘ I reply coldly. ‘She was flirting with Roman.‘
‘And so? That doesn’t excuse embarrassing her like that. Are you jealous or what?‘
‘I’m not.‘ I growl in annoyance.
‘Where is she, anyway?‘
‘Cleaning the sparring room.‘

Chapter 37
Kare jets out a long sigh. I know you’re doing this so Father doesn’t suspect anything, but isn’t that too harsh? She’s not a Lycan, and she’s not even a normal strong wolf, Kai. She can’t take what we can.‘
‘I don’t have a choice,” I tell her, my mental voice hardening. ‘I don’t care if she hates me for it, as long as Father doesn’t set his sights on her. If I don’t
punish her, he’ll think I brought her here for myself. And we both know how he’d react to that.‘
‘Shit. I understand you, brother. Just… check on her later,‘ Kara says before cutting the link.
I walk out of the building and into the cool air, wishing I could go back and check on my fiery flower right now.
But I can’t. She’s my slave, and as long as we’re within these walls, she has to act like it even though that’s not what I want.
