The Lycan Prince’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance) novel Chapter 7

Chapter 7

Lyra

Two Lycan guards immediately grab me roughly and drag me forward, separating me from the rest of the crowd. My limbs feel like jelly as I hit the ground, shaking violently. The king silently watches me. Prince Kai and Princess Kara observe as well, appearing

uninterested.

Tears stream down my face as I try to defend myself.

II didn’t steal anything, your highness! I’m not a thief. PleaseI..

Before I can even finish what I was saying, Daisy steps up, her face looking all sad and serious. The Luna is correct, Your Highness, she says loudly enough for the entire hall to hear.

I’ve seen her with a strange, glowing necklace hidden under her pillow. I didn’t want to believe it at first, but Lyra has always beentroubled. She’s known for taking things that don’t belong to her.I stare at her, my heart shattering into a million pieces.

Daisy, why?I whisper, barely able to speak.

Daisy looks at me, her eyes full of fake tears that never really drop. I’m so sorry, Lyra, she cries, but I can’t stay quiet and let our mother take the fall for your actions. The truth had to come out.

I look at her and then at my mother, the Luna, looking satisfied.

What did I ever do to deserve this? What did I ever do to make them hate me so much that they frame me for something I didn’t

do?

Prince Kai finally reacts, his intense green eyes moving from Daisy back to me. He turns his head slightly toward Luna Sarah, his voice smooth and dangerous. Is this truly your daughter?

Luna Sarah looks ashamed as she answers, Yes, your highness. She is.

Prince Kai makes a low, humming noise in his throat, eyeing my tornup clothes and scraped knees. Then why does she look like a pathetic Omega? She doesn’t even have the scent of an Alpha’s heir.

I look down at the floor, feeling so embarrassed I wish I could just disappear. I’m a daughter of the Valeria pack, but here I am, dressed in rags and being questioned like I’m a thief.

It is because she is weak, Your Highness,Luna Sarah answers in a mocking tone. She is wolfless. She has no power, no wolf, and apparently, no conscience.

Prince Kai has a mocking smile on his face. He looks at me like I’m some kind of weird thing, like a bug he’s found. A Omega that manages to steal from the Royal Lycan vault? That’s almost impressive.

think

The sarcasm in his tone is the last straw for me. My fear briefly slips away and is replaced by a burning rage. Before i better of it or my brain can warn me about what I’m about to do, I lift my head and stare right at him. I’m not a thief!I yell, my voice bouncing off the quiet hall. The whole room suddenly goes dead silent. I can hear a low people gasp in shock at how rude I

just was.

No one speaks to a Lycan Prince like that. Especially not a wolflessgirl who’s an omega. I immediately feel stupid. My heart pounds against my ribs. I just signed my own death warrant. One of the guards beside me snarls, and raises his hand to strike me for daring to talk back at thPrince, but before the blow can land, Prince Kai raises his hand to stop him from doing so.

Kai doesn’t seem angry. If anything, he looks more interested than he did a moment ago. He leans forward, staring at me with sp much intensity that it makes the air feel thinner.

You have such a sharp tongue for someone in your position,he says softly. If you truly aren’t a thief, then you won’t mind your room being searched, would you? If the diamond isn’t there, you have nothing to fear.

I glare back at him, my jaw clenching. I have nothing to hide.

I don’t mind,I say in a trembling but firm voice. Search for it. You won’t find anything but the rags I own.

Someone leads two guards to the direction of my room while I stay on my knees. I feel Prince Kai’s steady gaze on me, but I dare not look up at him. All I can hope is that the truth will prevail after they search my room. I can’t be certain that something won’t go wrong even if they don’t find the diamond in my room.

Goddess please, save me from this. If you do, I’ll leave this place and go far away to the human territories if I have to. Just save me

please. I silently pray.

I won’t let anything happen to you, I promise. My chest tightens as I hear Wyndra’s voice in my head. Even though I’m angry at her for making me become an omega, her voice still fills me with strength.

The guards return after a few minutes. My heart stops when I see what is in their hands. They are holding the Neel diamond, and it sparkles brightly under the hall light. How is this possible? No! No

A series of gasps and murmurs breaks out among the pack. The guards walk straight to the King and present it to him. King Geo finally pulls his claws out of my father’s neck. He looks at me coldly. It may seem as though the omega is truly guilty as charged. He says mockingly, stepping forward. I see a brief look of disappointment for a moment before he straightens his expression, looking unbothered.

No! I didn’t do it!I cry out, my voice shaking with desperation. I have no idea how that got there! I swear I’ve never seen it

before!

My dad rushes at me before I can say anything. He slaps my face so hard that I turn to the side, and I immediately taste blood in

my mouth.

You insolent, thieving child! You almost got me killed, and you’re still lying?

I’m not lyingfather! I haven’t even left the pack in weeks! I didn’t touch that diamond!I
