The moment we get there, I easily spot Amara and Isolde standing near the entrance. They look incredible. Amara is wearing a deep emerald green dress that is sleek and classy, hugging her frame perfectly. She’s standing beside a tall boy who is holding her hand, looking at her with a wide smile on his face, 1 realize it’s James, the boy from our class she’s been crushing on. I’m so happy for her! She’s finally going out with someone she’s liked for a while.

Isolde is on her other side, wearing a pale pink dress with pleats. It’s simple but sweet, and it fits her bubbly personality perfectly. The second they notice me, their faces light up. They grin and start waving happily.

I rush over to Amara and Isolde, and we all collide in a huge, happy hug.

“Oh my Goddess, Lyra! Isolde squeals, pulling back to look at me. “You look amazing! That red is everything on you.”

“The dress is perfect,” Amara adds, nodding approvingly. “Seriously, you’re going to break some hearts tonight.”

You guys look stunning too, I tell them, and I mean it. “Amara, that green is definitely your color.”

As the three of them start chatting happily about the music and the decorations, I find myself looking around the crowded entrance. I’m silently scanning every face, hoping to see a flash of Erika’s red hair, but there’s no sign of her yet. A small feeling of worry fills me as I wonder why she isn’t here. Didn’t Rina allow her to attend again?

“Ready to go inside?” Amara asks, pulling me back to the present.
