The Man Who Waited vs. The Man Who Wasted novel Chapter 18

"You pull this stunt the moment I get back! You just can't stand me, can you? You're going out of your way to make my life a living hell!"

Claire rattled off a long list of accusations.

Jocelyn remained unfazed, her expression as cool as marble.

"First of all, unlicensed cabs are banned from the airport, so it's impossible for you to have hailed one. Given your 'princess' personality, you would have ordered a proper luxury car service."

"Since it was a legitimate car service, the driver wouldn't have just thrown you out on the side of the road. If I'm not mistaken, you were probably rude and disrespectful to the driver, which forced him to ask you to leave."

"As for getting hit by a scooter, nine times out of ten, you weren't watching where you were going."

Walking with her nose in the air had always been Claire's signature move.

"You..." Claire bit her lip, speechless for a moment. "That's not what happened!"

What the hell?

Did this woman have X-ray vision? How did she know everything so clearly? She was right on every single point.

But even if it was the truth, Claire would never admit it.

She disliked Jocelyn. She had disliked her from the moment she first saw her.

That's why when Adrian and Jocelyn got married, Claire had secretly ruined Jocelyn's wedding dress.

Luckily, Jocelyn was smart and had Sarah bring a backup.

It worked out perfectly, anyway.

She hadn't liked the dress Adrian had picked out for her.

Jocelyn leisurely sat down, her voice calm and unhurried. "Whether it's true or not, you know best. It's not a good habit for little girls to lie, you know."

Claire's eyes widened. "I'm not a little girl, I'm twenty-four!"

Even he found it boring, but Jocelyn seemed to be perfectly content, never complaining.

What Adrian didn't know was that while Jocelyn did stay at home, she had never given up her passion.

She had started developing that pixel art game before they were even married, spending four years, working eight to ten hours a day, to complete it.

In the places no one could see, Jocelyn had never stopped striving.

She just didn't want to show it to the world.

Not even to her husband, Adrian.

Seeing Jocelyn remain silent, Adrian shot to his feet. "Are you deaf? Can't you hear me?"

Maria rushed in, carrying a burlap sack. "Mr. Lowell, please don't be angry with Jocelyn. She did it all for you."
