Could it be that he had actually fallen in love with this woman?
Jocelyn tapped her index finger lightly against the table.
"You were right about one thing. I truly have absolutely nothing."
"So, what else do you think I have left to lose? If I don't get what I want, then I will gladly drag this divorce lawsuit out with you for as long as it takes."
"Oh, right. The lawyer handling my divorce case goes by the last name Blaine."
Adrian was visibly stunned.
Blaine?
Could it really be the undefeated Attorney Blaine?
He was incredibly hard to hire and notoriously eccentric. Even if you offered him a fortune, it ultimately depended entirely on his mood.
If he was in a good mood, he might do the legal work entirely for free, refusing a single cent.
If he was in a bad mood, he would charge an arm and a leg, demanding an exorbitant fee.
Jocelyn smirked.
"Yes, exactly the Attorney Blaine you're thinking of."
Adrian looked at her in absolute disbelief.
"You actually managed to hire him?"
Jocelyn hummed. "Uh-huh. I guess I just got lucky and caught him in a good mood."
Adrian frowned. "His fees aren't cheap."
Jocelyn nodded confidently. "I have enough to cover that."
Adrian scoffed. "Where did you get the money? I know exactly how empty your pockets are."
Jocelyn flashed a faint, ambiguous smile.
"Did Diana Evans not tell you? That doesn't make sense."
Adrian was confused.
"Stop speaking in riddles."
Jocelyn deliberately paused for a few seconds.
"Do you remember the six billion in debt the Evans family owed?"
