The Man Who Waited vs. The Man Who Wasted novel Chapter 330

Jocelyn wasn't rattled by the question in the slightest. She calmly scanned the circle of men.

Her gaze ultimately landed on Julian.

She was a fraction of a second away from blurting out his name.

Seeing her hesitate, the crowd instantly started egging her on.

"It's just theoretical! You don't actually have to marry the guy! Spit it out, Jo!"

"Yeah! Let us know what your type is, so I can see if I actually have a shot!"

Roars of laughter filled the room.

"Keep dreaming," someone fired back. "You have no idea what Jo's actually capable of. With her talent, you'd be lucky just to carry her briefcase."

Sarah, heavily riding her alcohol buzz, was now casually slouched against Liam's chest.

"Jo! Tell them!" she slurred loudly. "Stop acting so timid!"

Liam flicked her chin teasingly. "She is a woman, you idiot. You're the only one here who acts like a frat boy!"

"Oh, screw you!" Sarah spat. "So were you just making out with a frat boy then?"

Relishing the lingering memory of her lips, Liam didn't miss a beat.

"I swing both ways, sweetheart."

"You're an absolute psycho!"

Despite the banter, Jocelyn decided to keep Julian's name out of it.

"Truthfully, I have zero intentions of getting into another relationship, so I haven't even thought about a 'type.' Having survived one disastrous marriage, my only priority now is reclaiming my own life."

"As for love and marriage? I'm completely retired from the game."

Her brutal honesty sucked the playful energy right out of the room.

It was just supposed to be a silly drinking game, yet she had delivered a raw, heavy confession.

Realizing she had accidentally killed the mood, Jocelyn immediately backpedaled.

"But, if you put a gun to my head and forced me to choose an ideal type, I'd obviously pick Mr. Vance."

At the very least, picking the boss saved face for everyone involved.

The tension evaporated instantly, replaced by a fresh wave of cheers.

Liam laughed loudly.

"Are you kidding? Julian isn't just Jo's ideal type, he's basically the gold standard for every woman breathing!"

Jocelyn shot Liam a deeply grateful look.

She knew he was loudly steering the conversation away from her divorce trauma to save her from further awkwardness.

Julian was quietly, immaculately considerate. Liam, on the other hand, hid a fiercely protective loyalty behind his brash exterior.

Both men were remarkable in their own unique ways.

Honestly, Liam probably made a pretty solid catch himself.
