The Man Who Waited vs. The Man Who Wasted novel Chapter 431

Todd double-checked.

"Mr. Lowell, are you sure you want to dismiss her original legal team?"

Adrian Lowell's gaze sharpened.

Todd immediately lowered his head.

"Understood, Mr. Lowell."

Back at Oakhaven Estates.

Michelle Lowell saw her son walk in and rushed over, her face pale and anxious.

"Adrian, we need to move out of this house."

Adrian rubbed his temples, exhausted.

"Why would we move all of a sudden?"

Michelle glanced around nervously, shivering as if a cold draft had hit her spine.

"Every time I close my eyes these past two days, all I see is your grandmother's face right before she died. I feel like her ghost is haunting me, constantly asking why I didn't save her. I..."

"Keep your voice down!" Adrian hissed. "Do you want everyone to know you provoked Grandma into a fatal heart attack?"

Michelle froze.

"I know my words pushed her over the edge, but I wanted to give her the medicine! You were the one who..."

Beneath Adrian's piercing glare, Michelle snapped her mouth shut, trembling.

"Can we please just find a new place, Adrian? I have this terrible feeling that this house is cursed."

She quickly added another excuse to justify her paranoia.

"Who knows, maybe it's because that jinx lived here. Nothing good has ever happened in this house. She dragged all her bad luck right through our front door."

Adrian's eyes went ice-cold.

"This is the last time I will say this. Never let me hear you badmouth her again."

Michelle mumbled under her breath but dropped the subject.

From now on, the Lowell family officially belonged to her son, but why couldn't she see an ounce of happiness on his face?

Whatever. It didn't matter.

What mattered was that no one in this house could order her around anymore.

"Did you go see that girl?"

Michelle asked out of the blue.
