"Julian, this isn't fair! You're playing favorites! If you keep this up, we are officially no longer friends..."
The secret Julian had whispered into Jocelyn's ear was simple.
"He's insanely ticklish right above the waist."
So, to exact her revenge, Jocelyn ruthlessly tickled him.
The two of them laughed and wrestled like carefree kids.
It felt just like their college days when they were scraping by together.
Sean pulled his gaze away from the laughing duo.
"You really spoil her."
Julian clinked his glass against Sean's.
The crystal chimed with a clear, crisp sound.
"This is exactly how she's meant to be."
Despite the rocky start to the evening, the rest of the night was filled with easy conversation and good drinks.
Jocelyn quickly realized that Sean kept his heart behind a steel door.
Even his closest friends, Julian and Liam, couldn't seem to find the key.
Where was the person who could unlock it?
Someone pushed the door open, hurried over, and whispered something into Sean's ear.
Sean's expression instantly turned frigid.
"Bring her to my office."
"Yes, Boss!" the man replied.
Once the employee left, Sean stood up and slipped a hand into his pocket.
"Want to come watch the show?"
Liam was busy playing a drinking game with Ethan and didn't even turn around.
"Pass. The 'shows' around here are always the same old thing. I'd rather hang out with our boy Ethan."
Ethan's face was flushed red from the alcohol.
"I'm right here playing with Mr. Bancroft, Boss!"
Sean turned to Jocelyn. "Coming?"
She didn't even hesitate. "Sure."
If there was drama, she wasn't going to miss it.
This was the first time Jocelyn had stepped foot inside the owner's private office.
The decor matched the man perfectly.
One word: Cold.
