Sean gave the final order.
"Do it."
Lena shrieked in absolute terror, scrambling to her feet to run.
But the guards grabbed her in an instant and slammed her back onto the floor.
Lana turned her head and looked directly at Jocelyn.
Jocelyn looked right back at her.
In the span of that brief, silent exchange, Jocelyn's heart softened.
She reached out and gave the edge of Julian's shirt a gentle tug.
Julian turned to look at her, a soft, incredibly warm smile spreading across his face.
It was a smile that carried immense power—the kind of power that could fix absolutely anything.
"Sean. Let it go?"
Sean didn't hesitate for a single second.
"Release her."
The guards immediately stepped back.
Lena slumped to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably as she bowed her head repeatedly.
"Thank you, Boss! Thank you!"
She scrambled to her feet and sprinted out the door as fast as her legs could carry her.
It was as if she thought Sean would change his mind if she stayed a second longer.
Jocelyn watched the scene play out in complete shock.
He just let her go?
Just like that?
She had fully expected Julian to have to argue with him.
Lana walked over to Jocelyn.
She bowed deeply in gratitude.
"Thank you."
Jocelyn offered a faint smile.
She could have easily stayed out of it.
Her sudden compassion wasn't just because Lana had silently asked for help; it was because she remembered exactly what it felt like to be that helpless and desperate.
Sometimes, all it took was one person reaching out to change the entire trajectory of someone's life.
Jocelyn couldn't help but look at Julian.
He had reached out and pulled her from the dark more times than she could count.
"Could I speak with you privately for a moment?" Lana asked.
