The Man Who Waited vs. The Man Who Wasted novel Chapter 492

"No, I'm perfectly fine," Julian said smoothly. "You should get some sleep."

But Liam was too invested.

"Come on, don't be like that. Let's chat."

"There's nothing to chat about."

Liam refused to drop it.

"What do you mean? There's plenty to talk about! I need the details on this whole hero-saving-the-beauty situation. Seriously, where did you get the nerve? It was a high-rise! Weren't you terrified?"

"If you had fallen, you would've been dead or paralyzed."

Julian's peripheral vision caught the silent figure sitting across from him.

"There's nothing to be afraid of. I'm not scared of heights."

"It's not about being scared of heights! It's about the Vance Clan potentially losing their direct heir! If anything happened to you, your family would descend into absolute chaos. All those wolves in the Vance Clan are just waiting for you to slip up."

"Oh right! Your dad doesn't know about this yet, right? He absolutely cannot find out, or else..."

The call abruptly ended.

Liam stared at his screen in utter confusion.

What the hell?

Did Julian just hang up on him?

Or was the connection bad?

Just as he was about to call back, a realization hit him.

The background in the video looked awfully similar to Jocelyn's apartment.

Were they together?

If so, then everything he just said...

Liam scrambled to initiate a video call with Jocelyn.

She answered immediately.

Liam's head darted around the screen, as if he were trying to peek into her apartment through the phone.

Cutting straight to the chase, he demanded, "Is Julian with you?"

"Yeah," Jocelyn replied.

"Holy shit! Why didn't you say so?!"

"He tried to warn you multiple times, but you completely ignored him."

"I was just..." Liam paused awkwardly. "So, you heard our entire conversation?"

"Yeah, every word."

Liam was momentarily speechless.
