"Didn't I tell you to wait for me? Why did you go alone?"

"I have other things to do later, so I wanted to get it out of the way."

Adrian didn't sound angry. Instead, his tone was laced with concern.

"How are your injuries? Does it still hurt?"

"I'm fine."

"I'll go with you to get your bandages changed tomorrow."

"That's not necessary. I can go by myself."
