The Mark He Bit Into Me novel Chapter 98

Chapter 2

“Alright, your father and I will make the arrangements.”

The call ended. Sienna wasn’t even sure how she made it back to the place that had once been called

“home.”

Every step felt like walking barefoot across shattered glass. It was excruciating, yet so numb it hardly felt real.

Back inside, she began packing in silence, one item after another-the expensive jewelry he’d given her, the limited-edition bags, the clumsy little crafts he once made by hand-piece by piece,

she threw them all into the trash.

Just as she dropped the last one, the front door clicked open.

Adrian walked in, followed by Celeste, who was holding the hand of a four-year-old girl and

cradling a swaddled infant in her arms.

Sienna’s heart clenched so tightly it stole the breath from her lungs.

He hadn’t just hidden the fact that he had children with another woman-he had brought them into

their home.

Adrian looked to be in a good mood. He didn’t notice the overflowing trash. Instead, he casually slipped an arm around Sienna’s waist and said warmly, “Sienna, this is Celeste, my childhood

friend.”

“And her two kids. They just got back from abroad and haven’t found a place yet. They’ll stay with

us for a few days.”

Childhood friend? Temporary stay?

Every word stabbed deeper than the last.

Sienna looked at Celeste’s graceful face, that subtle smirk barely concealed behind soft manners, and then at the two children, both unmistakably carrying Adrian’s features. Her throat tasted of

iron.

Still oblivious, Adrian turned to Celeste, “Celeste, this is Sienna, my girlfriend.”

The little girl looked up at her with Adrian’s eyes, scanning her with a scornful pout.

“Uncle Adrian,” she said sweetly, but with an edge, “this is your girlfriend? I thought she was your maid. She smells kinda poor.”

“Lila!” Celeste feigned shock and gently scolded her, “Don’t say such rude things!”

Then she turned to Sienna with a soft, apologetic smile, “Miss Sloane, I’m so sorry. She’s still little

and doesn’t know any better. It’s my first time at Adrian’s place and I’m not very familiar with the layout. Would you mind showing me to the guest room?”

Sienna opened her mouth to respond, but Adrian beat her to it-ruffling her hair like always, his voice tender and spoiled, “Sienna, help me settle them in, will you? I’ve got a video meeting in a.

bit.”

His casualness cut like a blade.

Sienna said nothing. She turned and led Celeste and her daughter to the guest room.

As soon as the door closed behind them, Celeste’s politeness vanished.

She started giving orders, complaining the sheets weren’t soft enough, asking for a new towel.

Sienna, knowing she’d be leaving soon, had no interest in conflict. She endured it all.

Finally done, she turned to leave, but Celeste called her back.

She dug through her suitcase and pulled out a bundle of old clothes, shoving them into Sienna’s

arms.

“Miss Sloane, sorry for the inconvenience of us staying here. I don’t have much to give you, but I no longer wear these. They’re yours.”

Her tone was dripping with condescension.

“You are Adrian’s girlfriend, after all. It’s a bit embarrassing for him when you dress so… simple. I’ve heard your family background’s a little rough. These might be secondhand, but they’re all designer. Should last you quite a while.”

Sienna stared at the pile of worn, outdated clothing in her arms.

She’d had enough.

Her voice was icy. “Your generosity is noted, Miss Harrington. But I think these hand-me-downs

suit you far better than they ever would me.”

Celeste clearly hadn’t expected her to talk back. Her expression darkened immediately.

But Sienna ignored her and walked out.

Back in the bedroom, it wasn’t long before Adrian returned from his meeting.

He hugged her from behind, resting his chin in the crook of her neck and murmured with that familiar boyish charm, “Don’t move, Sienna. Let me recharge a bit. I’m exhausted after all those
