Chapter 95-1
By eleven-fifty, the quiet peace of the bedroom is shattered by the ticking clock.

Locke pulls on his tactical gear again, his expression hardening back into the cold, calculating man easily capable of violence, as he checks his sidearm one final time.
The contrast between the man who just fucked me so fiercely on the mattress and the ruthless enforcer strapping heavy weapons to his chest makes my breath catch in my throat. This is the man who protects our world… a deadly shield standing between our home and the wolves waiting out in the dark.
I wrap my silk robe tightly around myself, tying the belt firm at my waist. I reach over, resting my hand against his cheek, feeling the rough stubble against my palm, anchoring myself to his touch one last time.
“You come back to me,” I repeat softly, leaving zero room for doubt
Locke leans into my hand, pressing a hard kiss to my palm before standing up straight at the sound of the elevator chiming down the hall. “I’m coming back. We all are.”
When we step out into the living room, Jade is already inside, and waiting.
She’s changed out of her glamorous, revealing clothes, and is now wearing a baggy black hoodie, well-worn jeans, and heavy leather boots. Her green eyes are clear, her face freshly washed, the traces of her earlier breakdown in the war room entirely erased, replaced by her usual cool, lethal composure.
She stands by the wide floor-to-ceiling windows, looking out at the glittering lights of the city below. The private elevator bell chimes again, the new manual code having been typed into the panel down in the lobby.
“That’s them now,” Jade says, turning to face us. “They wanted to speak to the guys downstairs, so I came up alone.”
“You still mad at Mayhem?” I ask, walking over to stand beside her.
“So fucking mad,” she says promptly, rolling her shoulders. “Fucking moron I married, I swear. He spent thirty minutes downstairs lecturing the Grinning Skulls guards on proper perimeter security, like he’s running a goddamn military black ops base.”
The brass doors slide open with a smooth, mechanical hiss. Mayhem and Dad step out into the penthouse foyer.
Both men are dressed in dark tactical gear, unbadged, carrying heavy duffel bags slung over their broad shoulders. Mayhem’s jaw is set like concrete, but the second his eyes land on Jade, the dangerous edge in his face softens into pure, unadulterated devotion.
Mayhem drops his heavy bag to the hardwood floor with a dull thud, stepping forward to gather Jade into his arms. He pulls her up against his chest, pressing a long, hard kiss against her lips.
Jade doesn’t pull away this time. She wraps her arms tight around his neck, holding him close for three long, quiet seconds before pushing back slightly, resting her hands flat against his chest.
“Don’t make me come out there and rescue you,” Jade mutters, her sharp wit returning, though her voice still carries a low, serious weight. “I will be so pissed at you if I have to save your hot ass.”
Chapter 95
Mayhem lets out a faint, rough laugh, kissing her forehead gently. “Not a chance, baby. You stay put with Zara
Dad steps toward me, pulling me into a fierce, tight hug. The familiar scent of leather and whiskey clings to him, and I take a deep, steadying breath, committing the smell to memory.
Just in case.
Growing up in the MC without a mother, I learned early on to memorize these moments. My Dad held me like this before every major club crisis when I was a kid, shielding me behind his broad back and keeping the blood far away from my shoes.
But tonight feels different.
Tonight, I know what’s coming, and the weight of it sits heavy on my shoulders.
“Hold the fort, sweetheart,” Dad whispers into my hair. “Tonight, we’re gonna start figuring out how to wipe this poison off our map.”
“Be careful, Dad,” I say, leaning back to look him straight in the eye. “Bring everyone back.”
