The MC President's Forsaken Wife (Zara and Knox) novel Chapter 483

Chapter 237-2

Beside her stands Flea, a skinny teenage boy no older than seventeen, wearing an oversized

black hoodie, scuffed sneakers, and a beanie pulled low over a sharp, vigilant face.

Next to him is Sly, a squat, middle–aged alley hustler with a missing front tooth and eyes that

move like radar dishes.

And finally, small, wide–eyed Pip, a fifteen–year–old runaway with messy hair and dirt smudged

across her freckled nose.

Flea and Sly are staring wide–eyed at the soaring ceilings, the original artwork, and the

furniture, their hands buried deep in their pockets, their eyes darting toward Xena with

immediate, high–strung caution.

“Holy s**t,” Sly mutters under his breath, taking off a battered cap and clutching it against his

chest. “I didn’t know people actually lived in places like this. Look at the size of that rug. My

whole apartment could fit on that rug.”

“Shut up, Sly, don’t look like a tourist,” Roxy snaps gently, though her own eyes flick over to the view of the ocean and mountains. She runs a hand down her fake–fur coat, trying to smooth

out the wrinkles. “We’re here on business. Keep your boots off the carpet.”

Xena doesn’t growl. Remembering her instructions, the puppy simply stands up, stretches her front legs with a lazy yawn, and trots over to the group. Pip lets out a tiny, gasping squeal of delight, dropping straight to her knees on my expensive rug and burying her face right into

Xena’s thick neck.

“Oh my gosh, you beautiful thing!” Pip squeals, her small hands sinking into Xena’s sleek fur.

“Look at her cute squishy face!”

Xena leans her body into the girl, letting out a soft, contented grunt as Flea cautiously

reaches out a hand to scrub behind the hound’s velvety ears.

“Woah, look at the size of those paws,” Flea mutters, his tough street–kid facade melting instantly as Xena licks his wrist. “This ain’t a dog, this is gonna be a bear. A real nice bear.

Hey there, big girl. Who’s a good doggie?”

“That’s Xena,” I tell them. “And she’s very, very friendly.”

Chapter 297-2

They nod enthusiastically.

“Welcome.” I step forward, resting my hands lightly over my stomach, offering them a

genuine smile. “Thank you all for coming up.”

Roxy blinks, her sharp posture relaxing just a fraction as she looks at me, taking in my loose–fitting dress, the heavy silver cuff on my wrist. Then her eyes drop down to the soft,

unmistakable curve of my bump, swelling gently under the material.

Her hardened, heavily mascaraed eyes soften completely, a sudden, fierce warmth flooding

her face.

“Oh… honey,” Roxy breathes, her raspy voice taking on an almost maternal hush as she steps across the hardwood. “Look at you. You’re carrying.”

“I am,” I say. “Locke’s baby.”

Flea’s eyes go wide, “Man… Locke’s gonna be a dad? We gotta find him, Roxy. We gotta bring

him home right now.”

“Damn right we do,” Roxy says firmly. “No kid of Locke’s is gonna grow up without him in the room. You sit down, honey. You shouldn’t be standing on your feet like this with all this

Chapter 483 1

Flea stares down at the mountain of food in his hands, his mouth literally watering as the scent of fresh pasta and melted cheese hits him. “Woah… lady, did you make all this?”

“The bread is wild–fermented, the pesto is fresh, and the cinnamon buns are straight out of the oven,” Willow babbles happily. “Eat as much as you want, you beautiful moon children. I have five more trays in the kitchen.”
