The Messenger( Iva) novel Chapter 114

To Stop?-2

He paused.

Just for a second.

Then he stepped into the private elevator.

The doors began to close.

Slowly.

Silently.

And just as they were about to shut completely-

His hand shot forward, stopping them with a sharp movement.

“Fuck this…” he muttered, frustration and something far stronger breaking through.

Without another thought, he forced the doors open again and stepped back out, his movements fast, decisive, driven by something he was no longer trying to suppress.

In a few long strides, he crossed the penthouse, his presence intense, purposeful.

He stopped in front of her door.

Knocked.

Once.

Twice.

Harder this time.

Impatient.

A few seconds passed.

Then the door opened.

Iva stood there, her expression guarded at first, confusion flickering across her features as she looked at him-

And then she froze.

Because the look in his eyes had changed.

Completely.

Gone was the restraint.

Gone was the careful control.

What remained was something raw.

Iva gasped softly against his lips, her fingers instinctively clutching his shirt as the intensity of him overwhelmed her senses, her thoughts dissolving under the heat of his touch.

“Caleb-” she tried to say, but her voice faltered, swallowed by the urgency between them.

He didn’t answer.

He couldn’t.

Because in that moment, words were meaningless compared to the storm crashing through him.

Claim

With a sudden movement, he lifted her slightly and guided-almost threw-her onto the bed, the mattress dipping beneath her weight as she landed, her breath catching from the abruptness of it.

Before she could react-

He was above her.

Hovering.

Dominant.

His body caging hers against the bed, one knee pressing into the mattress beside her as his hands found her wrists, pinning them gently but firmly above her head, holding her there, leaving her completely at his

mercy.

Iva’s chest rose and fell quickly, her pulse racing as she looked up at him, her breath already uneven, her body reacting despite the chaos of emotions still lingering beneath the surface.

“Caleb…” she whispered again, but this time his name sounded different on her lips.

Softer.

Unsteady.

He lowered his head and kissed her again.

Deeper.

Slower this time, but no less intense, as if he was trying to consume every doubt, everyword, every piece of distance that had formed between them.

The kiss left her breathless.

Completely breathless.

Her body arched slightly beneath him without conscious thought, a quiet, involuntary response to the heat building between them, to the way his presence seemed to ignite something deep within her that she could neither control nor deny.

She felt like she might combust.

Like every nerve in her body had come alive at once, sparking under his touch, under his closeness, under the undeniable pull that bound them together in ways neither of them fully understood yet.

The passion between them spiked.

Sharp.

Sudden.

Uncontainable.

Caleb pulled back just enough to look at her, his breathing heavy, his gaze dark and intense, filled with something raw, something dangerously close to losing control again.

Claim

His grip on her wrists tightened slightly-not enough to hurt, but enough to remind her of the position she was in.

Of the power he held.

Of the choice she still had.

“Tell me to leave,” he said, his voice strained, rough, like the words were being forced out against everything his instincts demanded.

There was a challenge in it.

A warning.

A plea.

All at once.

Iva stared up at him, her lips parted as she tried to steady her breathing, her heart pounding wildly in her chest.
