“Say it again.”

“I’m yours.”

“Again.”

“Yours, Caleb. Only yours.”

His control shattered.

He took her with a ferocity that left no room for thought, no space for anything but sensation. His hips drove into her relentlessly, each stroke deeper than the last, harder than the last, more desperate than the last. The hand in her hair tightened. The arm around her waist locked like iron. He held her in place and took what was his, and Iva gave it freely, gladly, completely.

The pleasure built like a storm tide, rising higher and higher until she was drowning in it. She could feel him climbing too, feel the tension coiling in his muscles, feel the ragged edge of his control fraying to nothing.

Then she felt something else.

Something different.

He was swelling inside her. Growing thicker, broader, stretching her in a way that was entirely new. The pleasure intensified, sharpened, became something almost unbearable. And then-

*Pop.*

His knot locked inside her.

Iva’s scream tore through the room.

The pain was insane. It was a white-hot fire that exploded through her lower body, a stretch so immense she was certain she would tear apart. Her vision went white. Her lungs seized. For one endless moment, she felt her soul leave her body, hovering somewhere above them, watching as Caleb’s beast claimed her in the most primal way possible.

But beneath the pain-beneath the burning, impossible stretch-was something else.

Something deeper.

Avalon howled inside her.

It was agony. It was ecstasy. It was every nerve ending in her body firing at once, a pleasure so intense it became indistinguishable from pain. Her wolf rose up inside her, not to fight, but to join, to howl in triumph, to celebrate the claiming that had finally, completely happened.

She was stuck. Bound to him. Locked together in a way that could not be undone.

And her wolf was singing.

Caleb’s roar echoed hers, his body convulsing against her back as his release poured into her, wave after

wave, endless and consuming. His arms wrapped around her, pulling her so tight against his chest that she could feel his heart hammering against her spine. He buried his face in her hair, his breath coming in ragged gasps, his entire body shuddering with the force of it.

They stayed like that, locked together, neither able to move. The knot held them prisoner in the most intimate way possible, and Iva felt every pulse of him, every tremor, every breath.

Slowly, the white-hot pain began to ebb. What remained was a fullness so complete it defied description. He was still inside her, still thick, still locked, and her body had begun to accept it, to welcome it, to cling to him as desperately as he clung to her.

Caleb’s voice came out broken when he finally spoke.

“Iva. I didn’t mean-I didn’t know-”

But she turned her head as much as she could, catching his gaze through the tangle of her hair. His eyes were wide, horrified, desperate.

“Are you okay?” he asked, his voice cracking. “I hurt you. I heard you scream-”

Her hand found his, squeezing.

“I’m okay,” she whispered, though her voice was hoarse.

His forehead pressed to her shoulder, and she felt him exhale a shaky breath. But his arms didn’t loosen. His knot didn’t release. They were still trapped, still joined, still completely bound.

The storm between them did not fade quickly.

It burned.
