“Prepare my personal guard,” the King commanded, his voice brooking no argument. “The full contingent. I am paying a visit to the Sivercrest Pack. I want the best trackers. The fastest wolves. And. We will surround them from all sides.”

The voice on the other end responded with a sharp “Yes, Your Majesty.”

The King ended the call and looked at his son.

“Stay with your mate,” he said. “Protect her. Comfort her. I will bring Rana back. I give you my word.”

Caleb’s throat tightened. His eyes burned.

“Father-”

“She is family now,” the King said simply. “She is your mate’s mother. She is the grandmother of my future grandchildren. And I do not abandon family.”

He strode toward the door, his aura blazing with power. His footsteps echoed on the stone floor, each one deliberate, purposeful.

Caleb called after him. “What about the Council? The rules?”

The King paused at the door.

“Let the Council come,” he said, his voice cold and final. “I will show them the footage of the kidnapping. The threats. The years of abuse. And then I will let them decide if they still want to protect a tyrant. Plus, they forgot something: the Alpha’s don’t have authority to imprison and question members of the Lycan Royal Family, which Rana became by association after today’s ceremony. As the kidnapping happened afte r the ceremony, they have no legal standing… Council or not.”

He turned and met Caleb’s eyes.

“I will burn that pack to the ground if I have to. But I will bring her home.”

The door closed behind him.

Caleb stood alone in the room, the silence pressing in around him.

He walked back to the bed and sat beside Iva. She reached for him even in her sleep, her hand finding his, her fingers curling around his.

He held on.

*Hold on, Iva,* he thought. *Hold on. We’re coming for her. We’re coming for all of them.*

Outside the window, the moon hung full and bright.

The hunt had begun.

The King’s procession moved through the night like a river of fire.

A convoy of black vehicles wound through the mountain roads, their headlights cutting through the darkness like blades. Guards flanked the convoy on either side-wolves and lycans in their shifted forms, powerful and silent, their eyes glowing in the shadows.

The King sat in the lead vehicle, his face carved from stone. His hands rested on his knees, perfectly still, but his aura churned with barely contained fury.

Beside him sat his most trusted advisor an ancient wolf with silver-streaked fur and eyes that had seen

centuries.

“Your Majesty,” the advisor said carefully, “are you certain this is wise? A direct confrontation with an Alpha, without Council approval-”

“I am the Council,” the King said flatly. “I am the law. And I will not let a kidnapper hide behind bureaucracy. It seems that I became too soft … and people forgot why the Lycans are actually at the top of the food chain. I will make sure that tonight’s action will serve as an example across our kind.”

The advisor fell silent.

The convoy reached the border of the Sivercrest Pack territory.

The guard at the gate looked up, his eyes widening as he saw the royal crest on the lead vehicle.

“Your Majesty,” he stammered, bowing low. “We were not informed of your arrival.”

“I am not here for a visit,” the King said, his voice cold. “Step aside.”
