This Ends Tonight-2
The King feigned ignorance, his voice smooth and unruffled, a masterclass in political maneuvering.
“Watch your tone, Alpha. I don’t appreciate your accusations. I’m sorry, but I have no idea what you’re talking about. I have not taken any of your pack members.”
The Alpha’s rage only intensified. His voice cracked with fury.”
Claim
“You have until tomorrow morning to return the Thompsons,” he snarled, “or I will file a report for power abuse. I will expose your tyranny to every Alpha in the kingdom. I will make sure they know that the Lycan King is nothing but a bully who abuses his position to steal pack members.”
The line went dead.
The King and Caleb stood frozen in the silence.
Then the temperature in the room spiked.
The King’s aura exploded-a wave of pure, primal dominance that made the flames in the fireplace roar and the windows rattle in their frames. The candles flickered wildly. The air grew thick, heavy, suffocating. Shadows danced across the walls as if they were alive.
“Who the fuck does he think he is,” the King growled, his voice barely controlled, his eyes blazing with ancient fury, “talking to me like that? Threatening me? Accusing me of tyranny?”
Caleb’s jaw was tight. His hands were still clenched at his sides.
“It seems I have been too lenient with some Alphas,” the King continued, his voice dropping to a dangerous register. “And they took it as weakness. They thought because I showed mercy, because I followed the rules, that I could be pushed around.”/
Caleb shook his head, trying to process what had just happened.
“I have no idea what he was talking about. The Thompsons?”
The King turned to him, his expression sharp, his eyes still blazing.
“I can see something on your face. Explain. Now.”
Caleb briefed him quickly-how, with Attia’s help, they had extracted Lori’s family from the pack under pretenses. They had moved them to a safe location, believing the Alpha would use them as leverage against Iva and Lori. The extraction had been quiet, seamless, done in the dead of night. Lori’s parents were now hidden in a secure location, protected by some of the best wolves in the kingdom.
The King’s eyebrows rose.
“This was well thought out and unexpected, honestly,” he said slowly, a hint of approval creeping into his voice. “Who orchestrated this?”
“Attia,” Caleb said. “He mobilized his people immediately. He understood the threat as soon as I explained it.”

The King’s eyes narrowed thoughtfully
Claim
“But why did Attia get involved? I don’t see why the Scotts would have any interest in this. The Scott family has always been… detached from royal politics, unless it serves their purpose.”
Caleb’s expression flickered. He hesitated for just a moment.
“Not the Scotts,” he said carefully. “Attia personally. He is fated mate to Lori.”
The King’s eyes widened.
For a moment, he was speechless. His aura flickered, the rage momentarily eclipsed by shock.
Then he shook his head slowly, a low whistle escaping his lips.
“This should be interesting to watch,” he murmured. “How the Scotts will take this mating. Attia’s family has always been… particular about bloodlines and status. They will not be pleased that he chose a scholarship student from a Delta family. Especially as he is already engaged with someone from a high tier family.”
He paused, his expression softening.
“But I really hope they can make it. After everything Attia sacrificed for our kind-his career, his health, his future-he deserves peace and happiness.” He met Caleb’s eyes. “He deserves someone who will see him as more than just a Scott bloodline.”
