The office was dimly lit, heavy curtains drawn against the midday sun. The scent of expensive bourbon and cigar smoke hung thick in the air. A massive oak desk dominated the center of the room, its surface cluttered with documents, ledgers, and a single silver letter opener that gleamed like a blade.
Alpha Calin leaned back in his leather chair, his eyes half-closed in satisfaction, as he closed his zipper.
The omega knelt before him, her head bowed, her body trembling. She had been chosen for her beauty, her youth, her complete submission. She had done exactly what was expected of her, exactly what he had demanded.
Calin’s lips curled into a cold smile.
He was a handsome man-there was no denying that. Tall and broad-shouldered, with dark hair that swept back from a sharp widow’s peak and eyes the color of polished steel. His features were aristocratic, his jaw strong, his cheekbones high. He looked like a king, a ruler born to command.
