Confusion-2
No one could sense fated bonds anymore.
No one except-
His thoughts cut sharply.
He exhaled slowly, forcing control back into place.
She believed herself the Messenger.
If she was lying, she was either extraordinarily delusional… or astonishingly brave.
If she was telling the truth…
His gaze darkened.
That possibility was far more dangerous than deception.
He finally spoke without looking at her.
“You will not return to that place.”
The statement emerged before he consciously decided to say it.
He did not retract it.
She protested – quietly, logically, stubbornly. Mentioned payment. Necessity. Lack of alternatives.
He listened.
Then he turned slightly toward her.
“You do now.”
Silence filled the car.
He did not elaborate.
He did not clarify.
Because even now… he did not fully understand what he intended.
He only knew one undeniable truth:
He could not allow harm to reach her.
Not until he understood what she was.
Not until the next full moon revealed the truth.
Not until he decided… whether she was a threat-
Or something far more dangerous.

And for the first time in many years, Caleb Adama – Crown Prince of the Lycans – drove forward without certainty, guided not by strategy…
But by an instinct he could neither command nor ignore.
Iva froze.
“You do now.”
The words echoed in her head long after he had spoken them, as if they carried weight beyond sound something final, something decided without her consent.
What does that even mean?
Her fingers tightened against the edge of the seat.
“Avalon… what is he talking about?”
For a moment, her wolf did not answer. Then – unexpectedly – warmth rippled beneath her skin.
A low, satisfied purr.
It startled her so badly she nearly gasped aloud.
“It means our mate is ensuring we are safe,” Avalon said, voice soft with a certainty that made Iva’s
stomach twist.
Iva blinked rapidly.
“Avalon… please be serious for one moment.”
“I am serious.”
“He did not accept us,” Iva pressed back, forcing reason into the chaos. “He never said it. He never-”
“He did not reject us either,” Avalon snapped, the rare sharpness in her tone cutting through Iva’s spiraling thoughts. “And he brought us with him when he saw where we lived. That was not indifference.”
Iva swallowed hard, staring ahead while the city lights slid across the windshield like streaks of distant
stars.
“Avalon… please… don’t do this.”
Hope was more dangerous than fear.
She had learned that lesson well.
“I can’t… build dreams from nothing,” she whispered silently. “If Nick could not accept us… how could a Lycan prince? Let’s just survive. That’s enough.”
Avalon fell quiet.

But the warmth remained – a quiet, stubborn presence beneath her ribs.
The car turned sharply, descending down a spiralling ramp. Concrete walls replaced city lights. Fluorescent lamps flickered overhead.>
An underground parking structure.
Massive.
Polished.
Private.
Her pulse quickened again.
The engine cut.
Silence flooded the space.
Caleb exited without a word.

Iva remained seated for one breath too long, nerves locking her limbs. Then she forced herself to move and followed him out of the car.
The underground level was cold, pristine, echoing faintly with each step he took ahead of her. He walked without hesitation, every movement controlled, purposeful – like someone who never doubted his place in any space he entered.
She trailed behind, feeling small and misplaced in every sense.
They reached a private elevator recessed into a dark marble wall. Caleb tapped a keycard against the sensor. A soft chime sounded.
The doors slid open.
He stepped inside.
She followed.
The doors closed.
And suddenly the space was too small.
Too quiet.
Too full of him.
す
His scent wrapped around her – deep, warm, impossibly intoxicating. It wasn’t just smell. It was presence Pressure. Awareness crawling along her skin like living heat.
Her lungs tightened.
How can he stay so composed?
Her heartbeat thundered in her ears, uneven, too loud in the enclosed silence. She pressed her hands

together to hide their trembling.
The elevator rose smoothly, silently, relentlessly.
Each passing second stretched longer than the last.
Her wolf stirred restlessly.
The bond pulsed once.
Twice.
Alive.
When the doors finally opened, Iva stepped forward – and stopped.
Air rushed from her lungs.
The space before her was breathtaking.
Glass walls stretched from floor to ceiling, revealing the night skyline like a living ocean of lights. Soft ambient lighting washed over polished stone, sleek furniture, open space that felt both luxurious and untouchable.
A penthouse.
The highest level.
She had never stood anywhere like this in her life.
And yet none of it mattered.
Because he was here.
