The Messenger( Iva) novel Chapter 92

Morning Call-2

Claim

Caleb collapsed against her, his face buried in her neck, his body still trembling with the force of what they’d done. She held him there, her hands stroking his back, her heart pounding against his.

For a long moment, neither of them spoke. There were no words for this. No language big enough.

Finally, Caleb lifted his head. His eyes were human again, soff and warm and filled with something that made her chest ache.

“Mine,” he whispered.

And through the bond, through the heat still simmering between them, through every cell of her body that now knew him completely, Iva felt the truth of it.

“Yes,” she whispered back. “Yours.”

His smile was slow and devastating. He kissed her forehead, her nose, her lips and to her surprise she felt him growing hard again.

The storm between them lasted for hours.

The heat that had consumed Iva’s body refused to fade quickly, and the bond between them only fueled the fire further, binding their senses together in a dizzying, intoxicating spiral that neither of them had truly been prepared for.

At first it was desperate.

Raw.

Driven by instinct and the overwhelming pull of the bond that burned between them like a living thing.

Caleb had tried-at least in the beginning-to maintain some level of restraint, knowing that it was her first time, but every attempt crumbled the moment Iva clung to him, the moment she whispered his name with that breathless need that made something savage inside him answer.

Time seemed to blur into something meaningless.

Sometimes their movements were fierce and urgent, driven by the relentless pulse of her heat and the answering hunger inside him.

Other times they slowed.

The frantic urgency softened into something deeper, quieter, as Caleb held her close and moved with a deliberate tenderness that surprised even him.

Iva had never imagined something like this.

Never believed her body could feel what it was feeling now.

Every touch from him sent sparks racing through her nerves.

Morning Call-

Every time his hand’s gripped her waist, every time his lips brushed against her skin, every time his voice dropped low with that dark promise of possession-her heart raced faster, her breath catching in helpless anticipation.

And when his dominance surfaced-

When he became rough for a moment, when his control slipped just enough for that primal edge to appear

It only made her want him more.

Avalon purred contentedly inside her mind, the wolf completely satisfied as their mate claimed them again and again.

Hours passed.

The afternoon faded.

Night came.

Still, they remained tangled together in the bed, the bond between them blazing strong while the heat slowly, gradually began to weaken.

Eventually, exhaustion won.

Their bodies finally stilled.

Iva lay curled against Caleb’s chest, her breathing slow and deep as sleep claimed her completely, one of her hands resting loosely against his side.

Caleb’s arm was wrapped securely around her waist,

For the first time in years, his mind was quiet.

The primal hunger had finally settled.

Chaos rested peacefully inside him.

And for a rare moment…

Caleb Adama slept.

The sound of the phone shattered the silence.

A sharp, insistent ringing cut through the quiet bedroom.

Caleb groaned softly, his eyes remaining closed as irritation flickered through him.

Whoever it was clearly had terrible timing.

The phone continued ringing.

Once.

< Morning Call-

Twice

Three times.

He shifted slightly, elearly intending to ignore it.

But when the screen lit up again and he glanced lazily toward it-

His eyes snapped open instantly.

The caller ID made his entire body tense.

Father.

Caleb exhaled slowly.

Ignoring this call was not an option.

Carefully, so he wouldn’t wake the sleeping girl beside him, he reached over and grabbed the phone.

He answered quietly.

“Good morning, Father.”

His voice was still rough with sleep and exhaustion as he sat up slightly in the bed, running a hand through his dark hair.

“It’s quite early.”

He glanced toward the clock on the nightstand and frowned.

6:10 AM.

His instincts sharpened immediately.

King William Adama did not make casual calls at six in the morning.

If his father was calling at this hour-

Something important had happened.

Caleb’s body shifted subtly, the weight of responsibility settling over him as he prepared himself for whatever news was coming.

But the voice on the other end surprised him.

His father sounded… pleased?

More than pleased.

Happy.

“Son,” King William said, his voice filled with unmistakable excitement. “I have fantastic news.”

Caleb’s brow furrowed slightly.

<Morning Call “Do you?”

“We’ve found her.”

“Who?”

“The next Messenger.” King William replied satisfied.

Caleb stiffened. Time stopped.

The words echoed in Caleb’s mind like a thunderclap.

Slowly-very slowly-his gaze drifted downward.

Toward the girl sleeping beside him.

Claim

Iva lay curled against the pillows, her hair spread softly around her face, completely unaware of the storm that had just been unleashed by his father.

Conflict twisted sharply inside his chest.

He forced his voice to remain steady.

“You did?”

“Yes,” his father replied proudly. “She arrived late last night: The council confirmed it this morning.”

Caleb’s grip on the phone tightened slightly.

“Who is she?”

“We’re currently hosting her at the Summer Palace,” King William continued. “I’ve arranged for you to meet her today.”

A pause.

“Come here as soon as possible. You know how important her presence to us is. Maybe she can even help you find your fated mate.”
