The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 110

Chapter 110: The King’s Return

After that night, Primrose never got the chance to speak alone with Hazelle again. Silas often kept the young woman busy, asking her to prepare medicine in his private room.

But Primrose knew it was just an excuse.

He didn’t need Hazelle’s help to make medicine, he simply wanted more of her blood to create more poison.

So far, Silas hadn’t slipped anything into Primrose’s food. Maybe it was still too early ... or maybe he was quietly planning something else.

He knew about Salem, of course, but only on the surface. As far as Silas was concerned, Salem was just the queen’s food taster, not someone with deep knowledge of poisons.

"It’s been too long," Primrose whispered, resting her arms on the balcony railing, her eyes fixed on the palace gates.

Marielle, who had just poured tea into her cup, suddenly went pale. "Did I take too long to prepare the tea, Your Majesty?"

Primrose glanced at her and shook her head gently. "No, it’s not you." She let out a long sigh. "It’s my husband. He’s been away from the palace for too long. How many days has it been?"

Solene answered softly, "It’s been seven days, Your Majesty."

"A full week," Primrose murmured, clicking her tongue. "I know whatever he’s handling must be important, but still ... he could’ve at least sent a letter if he planned to be gone this long."

It wasn’t like she was worried about him or anything.

But Salem had been grumbling endlessly about not being able to draw her blood yet, and Sevrin had used Edmund’s absence to throw every bit of paperwork and tax law at her.

The royal advisors were clearly taking advantage of Edmund’s absence to torment her.

Just wait, she would complain the moment her husband returned.

Wait ... why did she sound like some spoiled wife?

Forget it. She was the one who had asked Sevrin to help her become a proper queen as quickly as possible.

But still, when was her husband coming home?!

There were things she wanted to ask him. Like which shade of green would look best in her bedroom, or what kind of curtains he preferred in his own.

Even though Edmund had told her she could decorate his room however she wanted, she still wanted to know his opinion. ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com

"Actually, a week isn’t that long, Your Majesty," Solene said. "As far as I remember, it’s normal for His Majesty to leave the palace for months at a time."

Months?!

If Edmund only came home once every few months, he’d probably see her looking older every time they met.

She knew he rarely came back, even in her first life, she had only seen her husband a few times in the palace, and even then, only from a distance because she had been too afraid to approach him.

However, in this lifetime, was it really wrong for Primrose to want to see him more often?

No, it wasn’t because she wanted to be around him all the time!

She just wanted to gather more information about the kingdom from him! That’s all!

Salem had a point. Sometimes, seeing someone briefly hurt more than not seeing them at all.
