The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 111

Chapter 111: The King’s Sweet Gifts

"I was really ... really worried about you, Husband." Primrose let out a dramatic sigh and turned her face slightly away. "I couldn’t even sleep well the past few days because I was so worried."

Well ... that wasn’t entirely a lie.

She truly hadn’t been sleeping well. She didn’t even know why, it was just that every time her head hit the pillow, her mind filled with unnecessary thoughts.

Some nights, she’d just lie in bed for hours, wondering if it was okay for her to return home to see her father, even though her position as the Queen of Noctvaris is not stable yet.

She was torn between following her heart and going back, or waiting longer to secure her place.

In the end, she chose to wait. But that decision only made her anxiety worse. She was terrified she might die before she got the chance to see her father again, just like in her first life. freewebnσvel.cѳm

"Wife, I didn’t mean to make you worry!" Edmund blurted out. Then, after a brief pause, he softened his tone. "I just ... No, I truly am sorry."

[I didn’t know I was supposed to send a letter to my wife. It’s just ... I’ve been so used to leaving the palace without telling anyone when I’ll return.]

[But now I have a wife. I should’ve thought this through more carefully,] Edmund sighed inwardly. [Because of my carelessness, I’ve made her lose sleep. On some nights, she even kept tossing and turning in bed.]

Wait ... Primrose was certain she’d never told Edmund about that.

So how did he know?

Unfortunately, she couldn’t ask him directly.

"I forgive you this time, Your Majesty," Primrose suddenly said in a serious tone. "But please, make sure to let me know when you leave the palace and when you plan to come back. That way, I won’t feel like you’re abandoning me."

She understood that his recent trip had been urgent, and since she’d been sick, Edmund probably didn’t want to burden her.

But even before that, he had always left without saying a word, leaving her to ask the maids and guards for news of his whereabouts.

A little ironic, wasn’t it? That the staff knew more about her husband’s location than his own wife?

"I promise this will be the last time," Edmund said, lowering his head even more.

Then, after a pause, he reached out and offered her a paper bag he’d been holding since he returned. "I brought something for you."

Primrose blinked, surprised by the sudden gesture. He practically shoved the bag in her face. Still, she reached out and gently took it from his hands. "What’s this?" she asked.

"Just ... some sweets," Edmund replied, his tone hesitant, almost nervous, like he wasn’t sure she’d like them.

Far from disliking it, Primrose was just stunned that he’d brought sweets at all.

Wasn’t he supposed to be near the border?

Solene had told her there were only small villages around there. Where would he find a sweets shop?

But ... maybe there was one?

Primrose didn’t dwell on it. She opened the bag and her entire body froze when she saw what was inside.

Inside were chocolates and candies, not just any chocolates.

These were from Illvarian Bakery.

It was a famous brand from the City of Illvaris in the Azmeria Kingdom. Her homeland.

"Where ... where did you get these?" Primrose lifted her head, her eyes wide with emotion, her pupils darting as excitement filled her chest.

From what she knew, Illvarian Bakery didn’t have any branches outside her homeland.

Not even in other cities, let alone outside the empire.
