The Mind-Reading Mate Why Is the Lycan King So Obsessed With Me novel Chapter 115

Chapter 115: The Queen Who Misses Her Childhood (I)

"But Father ... are you really alright traveling on his back at such a high speed?" Primrose asked worriedly. "I mean, you’re not that young anymore, and your back ... haven’t you often complained about back pain?"

"What are you talking about?!" Lazarus frowned, looking offended by her words. "I’m not that old! And my back is perfectly fine!"

Primrose hissed under her breath. Hadn’t he been calling himself an old man just a moment ago? Why was he suddenly acting so sensitive about it?

[My back was killing me when I came here.]

See? His back really wasn’t in good condition.

[But a bit of back pain is nothing compared to seeing my Rosie.]

Now Primrose couldn’t help but feel sad again. Why did her father have to go through so much just to see her?

"Still, maybe it’s too much for you to come all the way here once a month," Primrose said, gripping her father’s hand tightly. Then she added firmly, "Don’t worry, Father. I’ll have everything settled by next month, and then I’ll come visit you instead."

Primrose had been doing her best to secure her position as queen.

Once she officially took on her duties, her visit to the Vellmoria Empire would be considered an honor, especially if the emperor heard many good things about her.

It wouldn’t be possible for her to visit Illvaris and her father frequently, and she also hoped she wouldn’t encounter any bandits next time.

"Don’t push yourself too hard," Lazarus warned her. "You could get sick if you overwork."

Primrose frowned. "Father, how can a queen just relax all the time? I have to work hard to lighten my husband’s burden."

Before Lazarus could turn to Edmund and start complaining that he was making his daughter work too much, the Lycan King spoke up, "Wife, you can take it easy. I don’t mind carrying the extra workload at all."

Primrose had been trying her best to act like a responsible adult, but it felt like both her husband and her father were determined to keep her as their spoiled young lady.

Not that she minded being spoiled, but she wanted to take on real responsibilities too.

"That’s fine. I don’t mind the work either," Primrose said with a smile, glancing back and forth between her husband and father. "If I don’t do anything, I’ll just end up getting stressed. Do you want me to be stressed?"

"No!"

Edmund and Lazarus answered at the same time and quickly cleared their throats after raising their voices. Lazarus spoke first, "Just don’t work yourself sick."

Primrose bit back a laugh. If her father ever found out that she had once gotten sick from staring at too many numbers, he would probably make a huge fuss over it. Some things were better kept from a worrying parent.

"Don’t worry, Father," Edmund said firmly. "I won’t let my wife overwork herself."

Lazarus patted Edmund’s shoulder a few times before gripping it tightly. "Son, you better keep that promise."

Primrose frowned as she watched their interaction.

Seriously, since when did the two of them start acting like a real father and son? Had they been this close in her first life too? Primrose doubted it.

Edmund was an awkward man, there was no way he would have casually suggested calling Lazarus ’Father’ back then.

No, wait.

Now that she thought about it, Primrose was curious. Had Edmund and her father ever even interacted in her previous life? After all, she had never seen them meet back then.

She thought about it for a moment, recalling the things Lazarus had written in his letters. It felt like Primrose had seen her father mention Edmund once, just once.
