The Mischievous Doctor (Finnegan and Nuthana) novel Chapter 413

The doctor did not belittle himself, but he also did not allow others to disrespect him.

The young man was not only superficially judgmental but also verbally sarcastic. Finnegan's displeasure grew. “Stop right there!”

The elegantly dressed young man, who was cautiously guiding the wheelchair down the steps, looked back.

“What's the matter? Upset?”

Finnegan spoke solemnly. “When we first met, I didn't know you, and you didn't know me. You have no right to judge my character nor to slander Mr. Magnussen's well-deserved reputation. I suggest you apologize!”

Apologize?

The young man seemed to have heard the biggest joke in the world.

With a face full of mockery, he shook his head. “Ridiculous, truly a waste of our time.”

He pushed the wheelchair down the steps, preparing to leave.

It seemed as though arguing with Finnegan was a waste of breath as if it would somehow diminish his status.

Finnegan narrowed his eyes. “Your grandfather suffered from kidney failure fifteen years ago and underwent a kidney transplant. Five years ago, his kidney condition deteriorated again, leading to another kidney transplant. Now, the third bout of exhaustion has arrived, and coupled with his advanced age, he's no longer able to undergo another kidney transplant. He can only rely on dialysis and medication to sustain his life. If I'm not mistaken, the doctor told you that he could only hold on for another two months at most, right?”

The elegantly dressed young man, with a mocking smile on his face, paused, his expression turning to one of confusion.

How did this youngster come to know about it?

The elder gently lifted his gaze and said, “Go!”

The young man said in surprise, “Grandpa, he accurately described your situation.”

“Was my situation a secret?”

Upon hearing this, the youth turned his head toward Finnegan, his mocking expression intensifying. “Did you learn that from watching TV? You almost had me fooled, quite the act!”

Continuing to push the wheelchair, he moved forward.

Casper said anxiously, “He hasn't apologized yet.”

“It's all right.”

With a faint smile, Finnegan addressed the elegantly dressed young man, “The doctor's estimate of two more months is rather optimistic. Your grandpa will start to pass blood in his urine by tomorrow, he'll be bedridden in three days, his kidneys will start to deteriorate in a week, and in ten days... his death will be inevitable!”

Upon hearing this, the youth turned around with a gloomy expression. “You brat! How dare you curse my grandfather? Are you seeking death?”

The elder spoke softly. “Let's go!”

“Grandpa, he has already cursed you.”

The old man coughed a few times before saying, “If a dog bites you, would you bite back? What would differentiate you from the dog, then?”

The young man was momentarily taken aback, but then he broke into a smile. “You're right. Someone who seeks attention like this isn't worth my time!”

Sneering, he cast a glance at Finnegan before pushing the wheelchair away.

Casper clenched his fists in anger. “Finnegan, how could you bear it?”

“I couldn't bear it!”

“Why didn't you fight back just now? Where's your fighting spirit?”

With a meaningful smile, Finnegan patted Casper's shoulder. “Do you believe that within ten days, this grandfather and grandson will be kneeling before me, begging for medical help?”

Casper decisively shook his head. “I don't believe it!”

“Shall we bet?”

“All right!” Casper agreed immediately, “If they really come to beg you within ten days, then I lose, and my sister is yours. But if they don't come within ten days, then you lose, and you must take my sister!”

Finnegan was taken aback.

Realizing what was happening, he swiftly lifted his leg and kicked toward Casper. “Get lost, you brat, always causing trouble.”

The cell phone in his pocket just happened to ring at that moment.

With a laugh, Finnegan picked up the call.

“Let the others leave first.”

Seeing that Finnegan's expression was somewhat serious, Theoden asked Spencer and the others to leave first, leaving only himself and Finnegan behind.

He then asked, “Dr. Larkin, what has happened?”

Finnegan nodded and sat down. “Something unexpected has occurred, so I've decided to alter the plan a bit.”

“What's it about?”

To avoid walls having ears, Finnegan beckoned Theoden to come closer and whispered some information into his ear, as well as giving him certain instructions.

Theoden's expression gradually changed.

Once Finnegan finished speaking, he immediately stood up. “Let's leave now, then. Let Alisha continue to stay here,” he said.

Ten minutes later, Theoden and Bradley left with everyone else, significantly quieting down the bustling Dragon Bay that had been lively for many days.

Before long, this news had reached Durbaine, falling upon Hank's ears.

Hank, who was in the midst of painting, put down his brush. “Theoden has left Dragon Bay?”

Brutus nodded. “It's been confirmed over and over again. Theoden believes that the current situation is such that the Zymons family can no longer stir up any trouble. He has Spencer by his side for protection, and Bradley has also recovered quite a bit, preparing to return to Bellridge to take charge!”

Even though he thought what he heard was promising, Hank couldn't help but feel that something was amiss.

His brows furrowed involuntarily, pondering the reasons behind it.

Yet, he could never quite understand why Theoden chose to leave at that particular moment.

Temporarily setting aside his thoughts, he said, “I can't shake the feeling that something is about to happen in the next couple of days. Something that could directly alter the current situation.”

Brutus asked, “What could possibly be the matter?”

“I don't know, but just keep an eye on it for me.”

“Noted.”
