The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1242

“Why?”

“You’ll see soon enough.”

Dr. David tossed out that mysterious reply and walked away, leaving Anthony standing there alone and completely confused.

Once they finished up, the two of them headed back to Imperial Heights.

The living room, usually so quiet, was packed with people.

Apparently, the Blair and Gates families had decided not to wait for the kids to show up on their own. Instead, they’d all just gathered together.

Spotting the crowd, Charlotte automatically shot Anthony a look. Her heart started racing.

She’d planned to tell him the truth as soon as the lab sent over the ultrasound report. But with all these people around…

If her grandma and grandpa found out now, would Anthony even survive to see tomorrow morning?

“Anthony, Charlotte, you’re back.” Helen came out from the kitchen carrying a dish, smiling warmly. “Come sit, dinner’s almost ready.”

“Alright.”

Anthony grinned and, under the affectionate eyes of the elders, led Charlotte to the table.

The whole place was buzzing with laughter and chatter.

Nora and Franco looked a little distracted as they talked about wedding plans with the Blair family. Charlotte didn’t have much to add. She just propped her chin in her hand, absentmindedly sliding food onto Anthony’s plate, answering everything with a half-hearted “Yeah,” “Sure,” and “Okay.”

It didn’t take long before Anthony’s plate was stacked so high it looked ridiculous.

He finally realized something was up and shot her a look. “Are you still mad at me?”

Was she really planning to stuff him until he exploded?

Charlotte just smiled, tapped her cheek with her finger, and gave him a teasing look. “Eat up. You won’t feel like eating in a bit.”

He froze, frowning. No appetite? The way she said it, with that mischievous smile, gave Anthony the weirdest feeling… Like she was feeding him his last meal or something.

He must have seriously pissed her off.

“About last night—”

Diagnosis: Early Intrauterine Pregnancy

The four women all shot to their feet. Nora just stood there, mind blank.

Lavinia moved fastest. She rushed over and grabbed the report.

So Charlotte really was pregnant.

“That jerk!” Lavinia’s face twisted in anger. She turned to Nora and Samantha, trying to calm them down. “Nora, please don’t be mad. When Anthony comes out, I’ll make sure to set him straight. Lottie’s barely an adult and he already got her pregnant. Seriously, what’s wrong with him?”

Right then, Charlotte and Anthony came out of the bathroom, just in time to hear someone say, “Lottie’s pregnant.”

They both froze.

Charlotte stared in disbelief. That report arrived fast.

“Pregnant?” Anthony’s face went pale, his eyes wide in shock.

He looked at Charlotte, almost afraid he’d misunderstood. “Wait, what does ‘pregnant’ mean?”

Charlotte gave him a sympathetic look. “It means you’re about to get your legs broken.”
