The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1248

“Replace the chef, too.” Anthony stood in the middle of the hall, thinking back to the dishes Charlotte seemed to like most at dinner. His tone was firm. “Interview another round of candidates tomorrow, and make sure to focus on finding a good pastry chef.”

“Yes, Mr. Blair.” Helen perked up, along with every bodyguard and maid in the room, all scribbling notes with extra care.

“And another thing…” Anthony paused for a moment, then continued, “Charlotte’s going to be moody in these early months. Unless it’s important, don’t hang around her.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Get the two rooms on the far east side of the second floor ready. Turn them into nurseries.”

“Nurseries?” Helen’s hand froze mid-note. She hesitated, then asked carefully, “Mr. Blair, those rooms are pretty far from the master bedroom. Are you sure that’s a good idea?”

“Absolutely.” Anthony didn’t even blink. His face was all seriousness. “Babies cry a lot. If they’re further away, they won’t keep Lottie up.”

Helen was speechless. The rest of the staff looked just as lost.

They were already feeling sorry for Charlotte’s unborn babies. Not even born yet, and already getting the cold shoulder from their dad.

The next morning, Charlotte actually managed to get a good night’s sleep for once. When she woke up and realized she was alone, her usual grumpiness hit her right away.

She got ready quickly, threw on a robe, and headed downstairs, dialing her phone as she went.

“How’s everything at the lab?”

“They’re still running tests. We’ll have the analysis report by tomorrow,” Dr. David replied, his voice low and gentle. “You’re pregnant, Charlotte. Try not to stress yourself out.”

The serum in her bracelet was something brand new to them. They still had to break it down and see how active it was. None of it was easy.

“I’m pregnant, not made of glass.” Charlotte frowned, her voice cool and sharp. “Aren’t you guys being a little dramatic?”
