The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1626

Comforting everyone separately was exhausting. The tears that had welled up in her three brothers’ eyes disappeared almost instantly.

“Flowers from Anthony.”

“A block from Anthony.”

When it was Kenneth’s turn, he didn’t even bother to say much. He just set down everything he was holding, shrugged, and said, “Alright, I’m out.” The second he said it, the three brothers exchanged glances, their expressions complicated. They all knew, deep down, exactly what was going on. Was this proposal even necessary at this point?

With everyone cleared out, Charlotte looked around at the table covered with sunflowers and all sorts of blocks. Her brow creased as she glanced around the room. “Where did everyone go?”

“Hold on, don’t rush,” Kenneth said, sticking to the plan as he turned on the laptop.

Within moments, Anthony’s face appeared on the big screen, dressed in a flight suit with a headset over his dark hair. He was at the controls of a helicopter, hovering steadily in front of a drone shaped like a ring. His deep, dark eyes were locked on Charlotte, full of all his feelings for her.

“Lottie, put the blocks together for me,” Anthony said. He tried to smile, but even through the screen Charlotte could tell how nervous he was. “Come on. Please? For me.”

She glanced up at the real helicopter circling above, then back at the man on the screen. So this proposal still wasn’t over?

“Alright.” She popped a piece of grilled meat into her mouth, then started fitting the blocks together, quick and confident.

Huh, was this a flight controller? Was he having her control the helicopter? If she was right, all she had to do was press the big button in the center, and Anthony’s helicopter would guide the drone “ring” straight to her hand.

“Sunflowers mean this: When I look around, I see no one but you. Everywhere, it’s always you,” Anthony said, voice soft and low. His gaze never left her for a second as the chopper blades hummed around him. “I…”

Shirley, watching from the sidelines, grinned. “Did you hear that? Did Anthony just stutter?” She was right. Anthony never stumbled like this. He was so nervous tonight, it was almost cute.
