The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 1628

Lottie’s friend was at Kingswood University too. Judging by the age difference, maybe she was twenty at most.

“Drink up,” Roger said, clinking his glass with Donald’s and dodging the question entirely.

As they chatted, Roger kept stealing glances at Stella. His feelings must have been obvious by now, but honestly, what was the point? Stella never gave him the slightest bit of attention.

Ten minutes later, the sky was still glowing from the proposal drones spelling out their message, lighting up the night.

Anthony piloted the helicopter and landed softly on the hotel roof. Not long after, he appeared on the rooftop in a sharp suit, holding a bright bouquet of sunflowers. It was like he was strolling out of a dream, walking in starlight.

“Is this proposal still going?” Kenneth groaned. He rolled his eyes so hard he looked like he might see the back of his own head. “Doesn’t this ever end?”

“Emily saw the whole thing. If I can’t pull off a proposal later, I swear I’ll just…” As soon as the words left Kenneth’s mouth, everyone looked at him.

Meeting Charlotte’s casual stare, Kenneth swallowed his threat and mumbled, “I’ll go sit at Imperial Heights and cry my eyes out until you’re all fed up with me.”

Everyone just looked at each other in silence.

While they were joking around, Anthony walked straight to Charlotte.

She didn’t move from her chair and still had a hot chicken wing in her hand, halfway through eating.

“You’re giving me the ring right now?” Charlotte asked, blinking at the blue velvet box in Anthony’s hand. She looked like she’d been caught off guard.

“Yeah.” Anthony stepped closer. His eyes were dark and intense, locked on her, and even his voice was low and shaky from nerves.
