The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 2034

The rest of their lives were now firmly bound together.

"Mr. Gates, Mrs. Gates, congratulations on your marriage."

The clerk smiled, handing over the red certificates with both hands.

"Thank you."

Roger returned the smile. He slipped the certificates into his suit pocket and scooped his new wife up into a bridal carry.

Stepping onto the red carpet of the registration office, he walked out with slow, steady strides.

Finally.

She was his.

--

On the way back, Stella fell fast asleep.

Roger took out the marriage certificate, opened it, snapped a picture, and sent it to the family group chat.

Roger: [I am now a married man. Samantha, treat me with some respect from now on.]

Samantha: [...]

Kenneth: [Are you freaking kidding me? That works?]

Actually, never mind.

Emily was a better drunk than he was; he couldn't get her intoxicated.

The family group chat exploded.

Everyone excitedly started discussing when to hold the wedding, who to invite, how the house renovations were going, and how much to give for the traditional name-changing fee...

Roger watched the chaos for a moment before his gaze drifted back to the girl sleeping in his arms, his lips curling up involuntarily.

He set his phone aside, took out the ring he had prepared in advance, and gently slid it onto Stella's finger.

"Mr. Gates, where to?"

The driver asked respectfully.

"The apartment." Roger kissed the girl's hand, his demeanor unconsciously softening. "Drive slowly. Don't wake her."

"Right away, sir."

The driver glanced back at the sleeping girl, then at Roger, and couldn't help but smile too.

--

A good night's sleep.

When she woke up, the sun was shining brightly.

Stella sat up in bed, looking around, entirely unable to remember how she got back.

Wasn't it a birthday party?

She had received so many gifts, while poor Roger hadn't gotten a single one.

And...

In the clip, the faintly smiling girl snuggled into his chest, playfully poking him as she said crystal clear: "I'm going to marry Roger."

"..."

Stella froze in place as the memories of the previous night came rushing back.

She really had drunkenly accepted his proposal.

At the time, she just thought he looked so pitiful without a single birthday gift, so she agreed.

She never expected—

She had actually given herself away!

"Are you mad?"

Seeing Stella's silence, Roger instantly tensed up, his eyes locked on her. "I'm sorry, I just..."

"Are you happy?"

Stella looked up, her hands tightly gripping the sheets, softly interrupting him. "Your birthday present. Are you happy?"

"..."

Roger stared blankly for two seconds before pulling her into his arms, his voice trembling slightly. "It's the best gift I've ever received in my entire life."

More updates coming, probably around 1:30.
