The Mocked Miss’s Hidden Crowns novel Chapter 846

“Let me take a look at the paper.”

Sunlight grinned and quickly reached for the thoughts Charlotte had managed to jot down in just ten minutes.

“Perfect.”

He barely made it through the first few lines before he thumped the table, eyes lighting up. “Now this is what real medical thinking looks like. Everything else was just nonsense.”

His assistant chimed in. “What about Olivia’s paper? Should we keep it?”

“No,” he replied without hesitation.

Olivia’s work only looked decent next to the others, but compared to Charlotte’s, it didn’t even come close.

Fifteen minutes later, the seminar kicked off for real.

Students from all the top universities began to settle in. Since Kingswood University showed up late, their group got ushered to the last row, tucked away in a corner.

As Olivia walked in, she purposely straightened her back and strode past Sunlight, hoping he’d at least give her a second look. But he didn’t even glance her way. He seemed distracted, eyes scanning the crowd for someone.

A little deflated, Olivia took her seat. Her gaze landed on the Kingswood University sign. She frowned. “So who did Kingswood University send?”

“No idea. It was all so last minute, maybe they didn’t send anyone…”

She hadn’t even finished her sentence when a familiar figure caught her eye.

Even with a mask covering most of her face, Olivia recognized Charlotte in an instant.

Anthony caught sight of Charlotte’s obvious disinterest and a small, indulgent smile played at his lips, his gaze softening with something like fondness.

Newell, sitting nearby, noticed too and let out a quiet chuckle. “She’s a pretty interesting girl,” he said.

Anthony turned to look at him, all warmth vanishing from his expression. His voice was calm and cool. “She might be interesting, but she’s off-limits. Nobody should get any funny ideas. If you do…”

Newell lifted his eyes, an odd heaviness settling in his gaze, but his smile only grew. “If I do, what?”

“She’ll be the one to finish you off.”

Newell’s smile faltered for a split second. He’d thought Anthony would personally get involved, but now he realized… anyone who messed with her would probably end up buried before Anthony even had to lift a finger.

Getting attached to her never ends well.
