The Moment I Stepped Into His World as the Fake Girlfriend, I Became the Real Prize novel Chapter 38

"Yeah, really. You should probably get back to class now."

Sensing the imminent danger, Lorelei didn't hesitate. She practically bolted.

Before sprinting off, she made sure to score some final points with Elena. "Ms. Larkin, welcome to Kingsley University. See you around."

After Lorelei was gone, Elena glanced around and noticed the crowd had mostly vanished.

She was just about to say something when Sterling coldly yanked his arm from her grasp, stepping away to put distance between them.

At the same time, three guys approached from a short distance away, clearly old friends of his.

"Damn, Sterls! You paid for a drop-dead gorgeous girlfriend and instantly destroyed the school belle's ego!"

Leon stared unabashedly at Elena, his eyes raking over her body with the predatory gaze of a hunter assessing his next kill.

"But seriously, man, what's her rate? Did you really pick this bottle girl up at Midnight?"

He didn't even try to hide it, blatantly expressing his carnal interest in her.

"What she costs is none of your damn business," Sterling snapped, his foul mood practically suffocating the air around him.

"Leon, watch your mouth. At the end of the day, she's Sterls' girlfriend right now. Keep your dirty thoughts to yourself!"

Liam knew all too well that Leon was a massive player with a string of incredibly questionable habits behind closed doors.

But right now, Elena technically belonged to Sterling. Even if she was just a hired escort, Leon was stepping way out of line!

"Sterls, do you think pushing her that hard might actually backfire?"

Hoping to diffuse the tension, Liam steered the conversation back to the actual issue.

"No."

"No."

Unexpectedly, two voices chimed in at the exact same time, delivering the exact same verdict. It was Elena and Jasper.

They glanced at each other, and Jasper gave Elena a faint nod in greeting.

Then, he spoke up, his tone filled with undeniable approval for her. "Ms. Larkin played it perfectly. You should keep this going."

"Is that right."
